It DID happen under Bush's watch. Went right over his head. He has no idea what it's all about at this very moment.

That's exactly right...like throwing their Bravo Sierra against a wall hoping some of it will stick.

That's really all that the entire Cindy Sheehan event is...nothing more or less. They've trained her for months in the hopes that her grieving mom status will be like some kind of teflon, making her immune to criticism or dispute.

WRONG.

No...it did not. Is I understand it, the orders were given and it happened in the months before the 2000 election and before Bush was innaugurated, while the Toon was still in office.

Done! Weldon was right. Podhoretz et al have to update their notes. This is the biggest story of the year. Probably the biggest in a number of years.

Game over. Go get em! I now have no reservations. None.

Sorry, I was referring to the commission itself which was obviously loaded and scammed from the get go. Additionally Bush allowed WAY too much time to go by before rolling heads at FBI and CIA.

It seems DC always protects its own. Regardless of who is in power.

Allow me to correct you: it happened under Clinton's watch. And the people involved were acting in an administrative sea created by Clinton's Administration.

Of course, the DUmmies are saying that Clinton was "on the ball" by putting together the Able Danger Team and that Bush must have ordered it to be shut down. They also believe that there is no such terrorist group as Al Qaeda...according to their moonbat rantings, they were a CIA-funded operation for 9/11.

Mr. Kean and Mr. Hamilton said in a joint statement that the military source of the accusation "could not describe what information had led to this supposed Atta identification"

It was therefore flushed down a memory hole. Seems odd that the appearance of a name that was responsible for 911 was treated as if they were talking about some random John Smith.

The MSM stayed away just long enough until the rats could start applying some pressure and orchestrate their BS machine.

Yes SeaBiscuit, this is so correct. I am sure the MSM were caught off-guard and they are now trying to coordinate their talking points with their DNC cohorts.

I am extremely disappointed with the Republican leadership. When the Rove story broke, they dems were screaming at the top of their lungs. We should be doing the same. We should be on every TV station sucking up the air time. The problem with Republicans is that none of them want to get on the soapbox. They are afraid of the DNC dirt machine. I miss guys like "B1" Bob Dornan, who wasnt afraid of anyone.

If there was ANYTHING the Bush administration should have been concerned with in its first term it was how this travesty, this outrage of 9/11 happened despite the entire defense and intelligence establishments 'best' efforts.

Knowing just how and why our government failed us (miserably) is indeed equally important to attacking the terrorists in this War on Terrorism. Maybe it is more important.

I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with Bush's efforts in this endeavor. He has said nothing. He has not told us anything about how and why this failure transpired. Not one public official has been fired specifically for failing his or her duties to protect the nation.

How dare this administration screw around with a pointless refit of the Social Security System while such other truly weighty matters are ignored?

Obviously whatever sickness eating away at our governmental system which not only allows such a failure but then covers up the problem .... is the most dangerous enemy we have.

Bush says nothing.

Bush can't do it himself - he's limited by the integrity/lack of integrity of those who do the actual digging. For him to keep harping at it would be the equivalent of crying over spilt milk; once it's spilt the job is to mop it up, not ponder how it happened. Why should Bush lower himself to the level of Slick Willie, who now claims that if he had still been President when some of the info came out (he was, but why quibble) he woulda attacked first and stopped 9-11, blah, blah blah...

The fact that we haven't had another attack on our soil in the last 4 years speaks volumes of how Bush and company want to know how things got out of hand and to stay ahead of the power curve. Like he says; he's results-oriented, not a snivelling whiner about the past that can't be changed. Anyone who thinks his knowledge is limited to the paltry info from the commission and other studies is a fool; he just won't moan about it to no good purpose.

Obviously I disagree.

DC is a dysfunctional cesspool of power mongers. If Bush were half the man that Ronald Reagan was he would have made reformation of this sick government of ours a priority.

This monumental failure which culminated in 9/11 would have made an excellent rallying cry. Bush could have been one of the greats of history rather than what he is. Another Bush in the dynasty that has never seen a government job it didn't crave.

Thank God at least this Bush was willing to buck the Left and prosecute the War on Terror but he could have done so much more.

He has the people largely behind him. There is so much he could do and yet he is satisfied with truly paltry efforts and causes.

Illegal Immigration?
