Larry Northern of Waco
Self | 08/16/2005 | Tex 52

Posted on 08/16/2005 5:32:55 PM PDT by Tex52

Just wanted to let Freepers know that Larry Northern, the man that knocked down the crosses outside the Bush ranch, is a Purple Heart winner from Vietnam. He was wounded by shrapnel that hit his juglar vein. I think maybe he had enough of Shean. She brings back the worst of how our soldiers were treated after Vietnam.

Horse hockey. So was throwing tea into Boston Harbor.

"tea into Boston Harbor."

Weird.

You are comparing the former Monarch to Cindy?

"good people are tired of it."

Amen to that!

To All the FReepers who wish they could have been in Crawford
to support President Bush and the Troops.

You do not have to be in Texas to show support for the Troops.

Visit your local military base today and at least once a week.

Or a military or veteran hospital.

If you can't do that then send an e-mail or packeage
to our troops for morale support.

We need coast to coast support for the troops, now, more than ever.

I'll bet Hanoi Kerry and Hanoi Jane are supplying funds and
morale support for the left.

We need to make an example of these 2 traitors from the 60's.

Anyone who thinks Hanoi Kerry isn't behind the anti war crowd needs to get a clue.

Spineless US Senate would rather protect Hanoi Kerry
than deal with the anti war crowd.

It's time to support our troops and ignore the jelly fish in the US Senate!

There is no need to impeach Hanoi Kerry from the US Senate

He is there illegally!

WAKEUP AMERICA!

For those who "forgot" what Hanoi Kerry
did in the past read on and learn the truth.

Hanoi Kerry was still a USNR officer while he:
gave false hearsay testimony to Congress
negotiated with the enemy
helped the US lose a war
abetted in the deaths of millions
created a hostile environment for all servicemen

Why is Kerry still in the US Senate?
This is in violation of
U.S. Constitution Amendment 14 Sec 3

And the FBI has proof of his treason.

Kerry and Julia traveled to Paris, France and met with Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, the Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam (PRG), the political wing of the Vietcong, and other Viet Cong and Communist Vietnamese representatives to the Paris peace talks, a trip he now calls a "fact-finding" mission.

(U.S. code 18 U.S.C. 953, declares it illegal for a U.S. citizen to go abroad and negotiate with a foreign power.)

I'd like to know why we never here a peep out of the MSM when cars with Bush stickers on them are vandalized, but some yahoo runs over some little crosses on the side of the road and it's deemed "newsworthy"?

He committed no crime. What he did is no worse than flag burning to make a statement. He made a statement. Is not that free speech?

If you burn a flag that is your OWN flag, that is one thing (although I cringe and am angered by anyone burning our flag). This man did not drive down his own "cross", he drove down the crosses that belonged to others. Surely you do not believe that someone has the right to burn someone else's flag and call that free speech.

I thank him for his service, but what he did set a very bad example and just gave the moonbats more to whine & wail about. PMSNBC is talking about the "desecration of the cross" etc. at the protest site thanks to Larry's irresponsible actions.

I agree with everything you posted. Hopefully those of sound mind and in control of their emotions will agree.

Trespassing... depending on the feelings of the landowner.

Unless that's a private drive, the roadside where the crosses are is likely a county right of way. No trespassing, and unless those signs complied with applicable signage regulations, no vandalism, either.

Maybe reckless driving, though the driver could say all the crosses made him begin to weep, blurring his vision of the roadway.

What crime? That stuff was litter.

Surely you aren't serious? If I decide to line the length of my property with flags and crosses, or even flower pots, I do believe that if anyone intentionally drives over them, it would be a crime. Aren't we, as Republicans, Conservatives, the ones who believe in our "rights"? I don't care if some flaming a-hole doesn't like my flowers, or my flags. They do NOT have the right to vandalize them.

By contributing to his legal fees, I assume you are supporting what he did? Would you feel the same way if a Liberal mowed down the flags at a Republican gathering? Come on....you can't have your cake and eat it too.

As has been stated, the crosses appear to be on public property, possibly in violation of county ordnances regarding roadside signage.

So, IF it is true that these crosses were on public property, then some people here are saying that THAT makes it o.k. So let's follow that to it's natural conclusion. If there is a flag, or anything for that matter, on public property, we have the right to vandalize it. If it's on public property, it's not illegal and wrong. If that is what some are saying, gosh, I never new that. LOL

How long does anyone have the right to leave their property on public land?

Hey, I'm just pointing out some of the possible legal issues involved.

Legality and morality ain't even close to being the same thing. That being said, as long as his driving didn't put anyone's safety at risk, I don't have a problem with it.

I don't know the answer to that. Perhaps it varies by state, or by county. If there is a law that prevents someone from posting something on public property, or has a time limit on it, one would think that this falls into the jurisdiction of the local authorities. If those crosses that were posted were illegally on public property, the local authorities would have, or should have, dealt with it.

Please don't be offended. I understand that you are just pointing out possible legal issues. You are right that legality and morality are not the same thing. However, as far as you not having "a problem with it", I disagree. I do not see that it helps our cause, as Republicans and Conservatives, to have "one of our own" (so to speak) do something like this. This man gave the Dems, the ultra-Libs, and the MSM the ammunition to use against us. We will be smeared, and ARE being smeared, by the actions of one person who used emotion, not reason, in dealing with these protestors. As I've said before, I expect this sort of thing out of the loony Libs, I cringe when it is one of our own who acts like they do.

I don't think they got permission from the state to do this. If I decide to put up signs on the side of the road should they be protected? If I buy a cooler and leave it there on the side of the road should it be protected? If I put a lemonade stand on the side of the road should it be protected? Now I do think this guy should have keep the bar and chain in his truck and left the stupid ass display alone. But I think it is totally stupid to charge him with damaging junk, that was left on the side of the road, with no permit.
