ANTI-WAR protester Cindy Sheehan said today she would temporarily be leaving her camp site near President George W. Bush's ranch because her mother had suffered a stroke.
"We just had a terrible call," Mrs Sheehan told reporters. "My mom had a stroke."
Mrs Sheehan, whose vigil has drawn attention to her demands for the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, said she plans to fly to Los Angeles to assess the situation and hoped to return in the next 24 hours.
Mrs Sheehan's 24-year-old son, Casey, was killed in combat in Iraq.
She said supporters, sometimes numbering in the hundreds, would remain at the camp in her absence.
Sigh.

Perhaps Her ex-Husband & son Speaking out have caused her to reevaluate her position or tactics. Also the Internet and public records shows she routinely does not pay her taxes oops. Faux Paux there Mother Sheehan. And with all of her inconsistant statements, Like to Anderson Cooper on TV, ABC News finding her letter. Her anti-Israel statements, Endorsement by David Duke she has a bunch of baggage. The MSM attempt to paint this Political Extremist/Activist as just a grieving Mom is unraveling. And the more she speaks the more insane she looks. Let us get her in the open and let the Nation see what she is about.
This may kill the Peace Activists for good. She is allied with the very people who killed her Son. Her support of Lynne Stewart a convicted Terrorist supporter shows she is nuts. What this is really about is a Mother's anger that her Son made his own decision and repudiated her advice. It is a prolonged temper tantrum and misplaced anger directed at President Bush.
