Support Said Growing for Iraq Exit Plan

Raleigh - Congressman Walter Jones said Thursday he has about 50 co-sponsors on a joint resolution that calls on President Bush to announce by year's end a plan for withdrawal from Iraq.

The resolution — introduced in June by Jones, another Republican and two Democrats — calls on the president to begin executing the withdrawal by Oct. 1, 2006. It does not set an end date.

"I think that people have finally understood what we're doing," Jones said after a meeting at the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, noting that people have mistakenly thought the resolution was binding.

The initial resolution sponsors are Ron Paul, R-Texas, who voted against the war, and two Democrats who have opposed it, Reps. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio and Neil Abercrombie of Hawaii. Jones said the new supporters include five Republicans.

It is the first such resolution put forth by lawmakers from both parties, although an overwhelming number of Democrats and six House Republicans voted in 2002 against sending troops to Iraq.

President Bush should call a national news conference tomorrow to announce his withdrawal plan.

At the elected time he will walk up to the podium, look straight into the camera and say.........

"My fellow Americans. Tonight I stand before you to announce my plans for withdrawal from Iraq. This is what I propose:

Number One. Will will withdraw our troops from Iraq when our job is done.

Number Two. Will will not stay one day longer or leave one day earlier.

Thank you and G*d Bless America!"

I'm with you. These flippin politicians love to kill our troops by ramping up their last gasp of fighting. Kerry / Fonda 101 mentality. Pisses me off. Even some libs I know realize that we should stay until "the task is achieved."

And we pay these assbreath "legislators" $150+k a year?

Someone, please give me a barf bag.

President Bush has made his withdrawal strategy clear on many occasions. He or we can't help it if the anti-America Bush-haters can't understand plain english.

Ignore these silly, bloviating fools in Armani suits; '06 means every last one of the sorry lot is up for another term, and they are only going with popular myth that the war is losing support here at home.

The rhetoric will become even more inane than it already is as we approach election day, and the cowards that can't even trust the power of gerrymandering begin to sweat being beaten at the polls and losing the perks and status they so easily become accustomed to.

You see, a politician, by his or her own nature, shown by their behavior, and no matter how many times they have pulled the wool over the eyes of their constituents, is basically a cowardly, self-loathing, incompetent, and insecure piece of floating, reeking excrement with nothing to offer except whatever they think the peeps want to hear.

Ron Paul is my congress critter. I hope a conservative Republican challenges this libertarian in the next primary. Time for Dr. Paul to go.

In one post, you have nailed all the DNC talking points. Watch other news channel than CNN....the Iraqi's ARE fighting for their own freedom. WMD's? You have not heard about the latest finds? Chemicals can be classified as WMDs. As for your theory about Afghanistan...Why did Clinton let OBL go there in the first place? And the USA can multi-task.

The only point I will agree with you on is our borders. We do need to fix the problem.

What is these guys' major malfunction? They demand a quick exit from Iraq, but they pitch an unholy fit when Bush proposes exiting Germany!

Sheesh...I can picture how things would have gone if these idiots had been in charge during World War II.

D-Day Democrats
