HERE'S MORE TERROR CONNECTIONS:

Provided a terror training base at a place called Salmon Pak, where airplane hijackers could train using real airplanes...

Harbored known, internationally wanted terrorists in Baghdad. Abu Nidal was one, and I forget the name of the other one, who I believe received medical treatment there. I believe Zarqawi (the Jordanian-born beheader had free pass in Iraq before 9-11 and before we invaded. He was with the group Ansar al Islam, at some point.

Some leftists have tried to claim that since that group was up north in or near the Kurdish area, that Sadaam lacked the ability to control that terror enclave. Baloney. This is a man who killed with abandon and filled the jails and mass graves of Iraq with massive numbers of people.

Here is a speech President Bush gave on the eve of war, on March 17, 2003, which addresses many of the reasons: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/03/20030317-7.html

It seems like you've already gotten a bunch of stuff, but I thought I'd add this to your list.

"They found 500 tons of yellowcake"

First of all, keep it away from Michael Moore, he'll eat the evidence.

Second...where exactly was that found?

I keep good references for the 500 tons of Uranium on my homepage.

500 Tons of Uranium in Iraq!

I also did a bit of digging to see if those "missing 380 tons of high explosives" and a known stockpile of 500 tons of Uranium were in the same facility. I thought you may find some of this interesting.

In May of this last year, U.S. Forces were prohibited from removing 500 tons of Uranium from Tuwaitha. Reference: San Diego Union Tribune

It seems Al-qa-qaa is only a few kilometers away, but it is closer to Salman Pac.

Here is a good image of Salman Pac. Click on it for High Resolution:

Legal Reasoning: UN determined Iraq/Saddam in "material breach" of cease fire agreement dating back to 1991. US led forces then, we are merely continuing the process started back a decade ago. British forces are also involved. Hence the "No-Fly Zone" being policed by both countries.

Political Reasoning: Stabilization of region through democratic means. Puts pressure on Iran (since we are now on both sides). Also allows for easier access to trouble spots such as China (since they are rattling their sabres).

Military reasoning: Fighting a war on their soil is a heck of a lot better than fighting on ours.
