So, if he is against a "fence", then he must be for adding thousands of border patrols so they can patrol the entire border 24/7.
Now, if I was a farmer, I could build a fence to keep the coyotes out, or I could hire people to walk the entire length of my property, 24/7, 12 months out of the year, FOREVER. Hmmmmmm, which will cost less. Thousands of employees, or a real good fence. Someone needs to be slapped upside the head. LOL
I have some friends who live in NM and their assessment is that Richardson is an apt pupil of Bubba - no bribe is too small for his pockets.
Richardson also had eight years to feather his nest to avoid any such problems in N.M. and now another 5 as Governor of the State. Any problem he now observes which is a long term problem means he lacks any wherewithal to fix it, even with all resources at his disposal. IMHO, Time for new blood in the Governor's office.

This is a ruse to develop safe passage for the millions and millions yet to come. Too many "border crossers" are victims of crime.
I don't want to see innocent people hurt either even if they are entering ILLEGALLY.
The difference is, I want to see them get safe passage back home.
One clue as to the real reason for Richardson's "flip flop" is his reported concern that our cattle may be infected by Mexican cattle crossing the broken border.
Not a word of concern (that I have found) about the health of U.S. citizens getting infected by the unchecked millions and millions of third world peoples.
I am sure Mr. Richardson sees no problem with them making a bee-line for our hospitals -- then on safely to anywhere they damn well please.
