National Geographic

There's a DISTINCT POSSIBILITY that National geographic made a reference to Able Danger During Their Special on 9/11 Yesterday.
TOPICS: News/Current Events; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: 911documentary; abledanger; atta; inside911

National Geographic did a special Sunday night on 9/11. In it, there was a segment that referred to a "chart" with the names of some of the 9/11 hijackers. It went on to say that the chart was disregarded because the individuals on it were "legal" (my words). There was no specific mention of the term "Able Danger". But when I saw the segment, I told my wife "They're talking about Able Danger". This morning on Jim Geraghty's TKS blog at NRO, there's info from two other folks who got the same impression I did. DID ANYONE SEE THE SEGMENT ON THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SPECIAL? DID IT SOUND LIKE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT ABLE DANGER?

Yup, they mentioned a couple of times the "policy" preventing the FBI and CIA from comparing notes.
No specific mention of Goreick, though. And only mild, passing references were made to Clintoon's fecklessness in combatting terrorism.

They definitely covered it, but did not use the name Ale Dnger.

I don't remember exactly when it was, but they were talking about Atta (I think) and one or two others being in Florida. Then, they went to the base where JSOC is in Tampa and discussed them having some information on one or more hijackers, but not following through (i.e. contacting the FBI) because THEIR COUNSEL said they couldn't do it.
I don't think that could have happened.

Yep, there was a segment on intelligence people working at McDill Air Force Base in Florida in 2000. According to the narration, they had a chart of potential terrorists which had pictures of both Mohammad Atta and Marwan al-Shehhi on it. Sounds like corroboration from a second source of Lt. Col. Shaffer's story. Now we need to know National Geographic's sources.

I watched until they said Klinton issues a shoot to kill order for UBL. I wondered if that was before or after any of the 3 times he was offered to us.And, if it was after the first WTC bombing where Klinton deemed that terror act a

They mentioned it precisely without using the AD name. Just they we're blocked on transfering the info to FBI because of legal visas etc.

Klinton issues a shoot to kill order for UBL. THAT'S a memo I would like to see. Do they have proof he actually did this? Because I find it hard to believe. OBL wasn't on clinton's radar. He was too busy tracking down angry white men.

The show did indicate Clinton wimped out because someone spotted a 'swing set' from satellite photos. From my point of view, they would have been taking out future terrorists who were without a doubt already being severely brainwashed living in a terrorist Al Qaeda camp.

I didn't see it but I'm guessing it was produced before the recent revelations - before the words "Able Danger" became public. So yeah, it would be a Clinton whitewash.

They also said they increased the security at all NY airports, but I don't recall hearing that. Perhaps, those were the days before we knew everything?

Okay, there's several other folks who got the same impression I did. DID ANYONE RECORD THE SPECIFIC SEGMENT? IF SO, PLEASE POST WHAT WAS ACTUALLY SAID.

And at a second opportunity, they killed the operation because OBL was entertaining a visiting prince from the UAE.
God knows we wouldn't want to offend a government whose princes spend their vacation hunting with OBL.
