"I don't see this as damaging to Christianity at all. Chavez is an enemy of Christ."

Then, let God strike him down. Robertson impugns all Christians with this kind of idiocy. Christianity can no longer take the moral high ground against fatwa issuing Muslims. In fact, the first thing I heard when I turned on the news this morning was, "Pat Robertson issues a fatwa against Hugo Chavez, more in a moment.". Gee, thanks, Pat.

Why are this fool's opinions considered important?

CBC radio in Canada headlined the morning newscast with this short-bus sky pilot's pronouncement. What an embarassment he is!

Hey, Pat! Just pass the collection plate, build your palaces, and keep your stupid mouth shut - that's the way to profit in the religion business.

O thought Libertarians were for free speech????????

I am not a fan of Pat Roberson's, but he doesn't build palaces. His group takes care of millions of hungry and down and out people, both in the U.S> and abroad.

What he says about Chavez is true and he has every right to say it.

So do I.

Chavez is an enemy of this nation and an enemy of western civlization.

I agree...my fear here is that when things like this are said...it sets those of us trying to give others the message of Christ... back (already they think we are radical). How can people take Christians seriously and want to learn about Christ and what he did on the cross..when one of our own says something like this? This is a free country and he can say what he wants but unfortunately the liberals and the rest of the world puts all of us in the same boat. Also when Chavez hears this...I worry for the safety of our missionaries in Venezuela.

Che Guevara. Killed by Bolivian peasants, not USA CIA assassin teams.

Sort of. Actually, he was killed by Bolivian soldiers under the direction of the CIA. The head of the project, Felix Rodiriguez, wore Guevara's wristwatch to 41's inauguration.

Speak away, Patty boy! Not a problem!

But neither is mocking, rejecting, or disputing what he said.

Under the color of biblical authority, he pushes his private inappropriate agenda.(preachers have foreign policies, now?)

I'm sure it's legal, but it's certainly a fit subject for critical commentary.

Would you consider it "un-Christian" to call for the assassination of Osama Bin Laden?

BINGO!!!

Let all those who think assassinating Chavez is morally wrong, ask themselves this question. No equivocating here. No, ifs, ands or buts either. If you answer yes for one...you have to answer yes for the other. No middle ground.

A positive declaration to an entirely speculative question dismissed as sheer conjecture is MUCH more amusing that balloons and lollipops.

When you ask a Yes/No question, as you did, what kind of answer do you expect? I'll answer for you, a positive declaration (either in the affirmative or in the negative). It does not change the entirely speculative nature of the question you asked, and the answer is as disconnected from reality as the question itself.

Hugo Chavez is an dangerous loon. I consider him the equivalent of a maniac freaking out on your front yard. If reasoning with him won't work and he suddenly pulls out a gun and starts waving it around, you start to run out of options really fast...

‘New Castro’ threatens to take his feud with America nuclear - (Chavez rattling nuke sabers!)

"Thou shalt not kill, unless it's a democratically elected leader who one disagreeth with".

Hitler was democratically elected and legally made Chancellor.

Face it, this is reprehensible behavior on Robertson's part--and for those bringing up the Churchill/Hitler analogy, what are you talking about? Please, I would LOVE to be enlightened about the Hugo Chavez plan for widespread genocide...

You don't know too much about Hugo, do you?
