Very interesting. I hope the author of this essay puts aside some of his scriptwriting, and writes a book about all this. I liked so much of what he wrote, including this:
...I was raised a Democrat, voted Democrat for years and years, and believed, absolutely, that Republicans were evil. Thats what we were taught from birth, right? Democrats are for the poor and the oppressed, and Republicans are for rich people and big corporations. Who questioned such sophisticated political analysis?
Yes, he's right -- that truly is about the highest level of political sophistication ever reached by some people!
LOL... Thanks for taking the time to post this great essay. :)

I guess this means we can expect a liberal, trashy movie about Rush. Yep, that will increase their box office.
I wonder who they will get to direct it, Oliver Stone?

Thank you for posting. I missed it the other two times because, although I am on FR a LOT, I am not here 24/7. This article made me want to cry. I was a lonely little kid and I watched AMC for company. I grew up loving the movies and in the last 4 years I have been to the theater 4 or 5 times. I hate what the left has done to a once great institution. I hope an alternative devolpes and saves the industry. Mel Gibson gives me some hope.

The Devil's Arithmetic I betcha his script on Rush would have gotten a pretty good audiance. The new one is going to bomb. Eventually, Hollywood is going to have to wake up to the reality that money is no longer falling from the sky.
"24" btw is doing pretty good with its rather non-PC portrayal of Islamic terrorists.

If they release a hit piece on Rush it will just hasten their demise. They don't get how organized and energized we have become. They will discover our, newfound, protesting skills if they attempt to harm Rush in such a manner. It REALLY must suck to be a lefty these days...all the dreams have died..along with all the flowers ;}

Oh, that would be fun, wouldn't it? They can't stand that we are winning. George Clooney has a movie coming out about McCarthy. GEORGE FREAKIN CLOONEY. With all his Hollywood money, he couldn't even get his famous father elected in his home state and they still don't get that their views don't represent American views. It's truly pathetic.

My epiphany came when PBS of all stations broadcast a special with Milton Friedman, "Free to Choose." It was a life altering event. When I realized that America became what it did by virtue of the free market, not the government there was no turning back. Before this I voted for Carter, my first election. Afterwards, there was no turning back.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has been leaning very heavily on Hollywood the past few years and the film industry is, frankly, terrified. According to CAIR, not a single Muslim should ever be portrayed as a terrorist on film, reality be damned."24" is the exception. I heard they so butchered "The Sum of All Fears" that I refused to go see it. The last movie I can remember that gave a somewhat accurate portrayal of Islamofascist terrorism was "True Lies" over 10 years ago, and even then, the PC police screamed bloody murder.

"24" is the exception. In a lot of ways, not the least of which is that people actually watch it.

Hollywood, once upon a time, was one of the most patriotic colonies on the planet. During World War II, Frank Capra made a series of propaganda films titled Why We Fight. Marlene Dietrich put herself through a most grueling schedule visiting and entertaining our troops and selling war bonds. Jimmy Stewart joined the Air Force. Numerous movie stars put their careers on hold to help the war effort. These men and women loved America and understood who the enemy was and why the enemy had to be not only defeated but obliterated from the face of the earth. It was during the WWII period that Hollywood people became known as the beautiful people. It wasn't because of plastic surgery or fake boobs -- it was for raising war bond money. They were part of us and we were part of them. And we admired them...
Now, Hollywood is peopled by the ugly people, the self absorbed, the petty, the drug addicted, the unpatriotic. And movie wonder why no one wants to watch them...

These Hollywood liberals spend their lives negotiating. They believe that when the time comes they will sit down with Osama bin Laden and cut a deal. Imagine how surprised theyll be when the cold blade hits their necks. Imagine their shock when they realize there is no negotiating with barbarians; that Osama makes no distinctions between Democrats and Republicans, between observant Jew and Buddhist chanting Jew. I hope it never comes to that, but imagine such a story line. Actually, it would make a pretty good movie. I should try and pitch it.
I'll buy a ticket to see it...
