It is important to not forget that all these people are entertainers. If I recall, you 'pile on' these guys given an opportunity.
'Mic' envy, perhaps?
They could 'cut it' when you couldn't find traction in the market?
The 'radio personality' boards are full of success wanna- be's that express all kinds of animosity towards those that have made it ...
Good point -- I've seen Carville do this more than once.
Anyone have an insight where it started? My guess is, it came out of the Clinton campaign, the one in 1992.
Whatever, it's really verbal brawling, not debate. And you're right, that's what referees, moderators, and for that matter sergeants-at-arms are for -- if they won't play fair, they need to be kicked off the air or out of the hall and the debate awarded to the more honorable and observant side on principle.
It's farDing you dolt.
Get your own talk show. I'm sure it will be a real winner.
I'm getting real tired of the so called right eating their own.
President Reagan's 11th commandment is a good idea. We should follow it.
No purpose is served in excoriating our own. The Left is very well organized and we should do better.
the point of the post is.... that since the poster says he's conservative...he gets to comment on how bad conservative commentators really are... and how smart he/she/it really is....
We have this dispute....is it "Turd" or "Tird". I said it was "Turd". Can you clarify. Is "Fard" the precursor to "Tird". Sort of the reconasscence effort before the ...effort.
fard
\Fard\, n. [F., prob. fr. OHG. gifarit, gifarwit p. p. of farwjan to color, tinge, fr. farawa color, G. farbe.] Paint used on the face. [Obs.] ``Painted with French fard.'' --J. Whitaker.
Yes, we are blessed in the LA-OC area. From 9-12, I can switch between, Rush and Prager (I don't much care for O'Reilly's show unless John Gibson is subbing for him). 12-3, it's Medved (once in a while, I try Sean). From 3-6, it's Elder or Hewitt. If I'm still listening from 6 on, it's the incomparable Al Rantel, who is good enough to go national.
Which is a logical fallacy. It is known as appeal to ridicule.
the marketplace one person can stand up and say..." he just isn't qualified to do a three-hour radio show." and thus the show is taken off the radio.
Quote me on that last part! (i.e. "thus the show is taken off the air") I didn't say it, which you know darn well. How liberal-esque.
meaning of 'marketplace'
The market means that enough people like him, he will stay on, granted. It does NOT mean that simply because other people like him that I am not entitled to an opinion to the contrary. The 'marketplace' is nothing more than a compendium of opinions, just as valid as mine. To return to your boat analogy, the passengers, indirectly (through their purchases and choices) democratically, steer the ship. I am merely casting my vote and hoping to persuade others to vote the same way.
Democrats, well liberals really, typical argue from a position of willful ignorance. In that respect the position you've taken is most like a liberal.
I disagree. While that is true of some, most are honestly deceived. That said, when I say you argue as a Liberal, I mean it in the finest of Ann Coulter traditions: that liberals (most liberals, mostly) argue through ad hominem attacks, red herrings, and dodging of the original issue. You have done all. I am wrong because I am not qualified to make the judgement and you answered with a discussion of the free market that has absolutely nothing to do with my original post--you answered none of my points about Hannity's merits. Oh, and prove "willful ignorance."
Go to a dictionary and look up marketplace.
See above.
As a side note, I think there are two ways Hannity mantains his success: 1. A LOT of publicity and 2. He faces little direct competition. After all, he is AFTER Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham (who are, IMHO, the best talk show hosts on at the moment). In my area, for example, there aren't any other talk shows on (to my knowledge) during his timeslot.
Which is why I displayed it as you not saying it.
You put it in quotes, I didn't.
You compare yourself to Ann Coulter? That's the best part! LOL!!
Still waiting for a non-ad hominem answer...
By the end of every weekend, I've had so much liberal blather that listening to Rush is my only chance of staying grounded and not completely going in sane. I just plain love "positive" thinking and I surely get that from Rush.
I think that the people who hate Michael Savage, hate him for about 10% of what he does. Savage is the only host who will talk about real intellectual and down-to-earth cultural stuff. Is there anyone else besides him who talks about Shakespeare or literature? Is there anyone else who will discuss meatball recipes and the old neighborhood.
I love Rush, and Hannity. Savage I can only take a few minutes of, and Medved, although good allows mostly liberal callers and I can't listen to them. If I wanted to hear them all of the time, I would listen to Air America. Also adore Glenn Beck.
Thank you. If people are going to review something they ought to at least know what the words mean.
To what?
As you have nothing more to say I will not interrupt you while you are saying it.
Me thinks FlagLady47 has the fixation on dirty talk...
Well, a little bit of it can be fun, just as long as it is oblique rather than a full frontal assault.
