FReeper Canteen~Weekend In Washington, DC~August 25, 2005
August 24, 2005 | bentfeather Canteen Crew

For the freedom you enjoyed yesterday...
Thank the Veterans who served in The United States Armed Forces.

Looking forward to tomorrow's freedom?
Support The United States Armed Forces today!

Good morning TROOPS!
A certain bird person went missing for a few days.
Here are some clues to her where abouts.

1) I hold the seat of power in my land.
2) The President of the United States has residence here.
3) It's not a State, but a District.
4) I saw the Viet Nam Wall and other monuments.
5) Poets gather there for Conventions!
6) Where was the Convention held??

Because our Military is strong, we are assured, that in America we can do our dreams.
Anyone may write, be free to travel, free to be what our heart desires.

bentfeather, read her poem in front of judges and sixty poets.
My poem did not win, but I won a door prize to return next year to compete again.

So what did we do the rest of the time??
There was live entertainment, dancing, dining, open mike reading, chatting and making new friends.
I now have friends from New Zealand.

~Tony Orlando & Dawn~Knock Three Times On the Ceiling~

Tony Orlando was our entertainment for Saturday night.
He is fabulous!
Tony Orlando is also, a big supporter of our TROOPS.

Okay, enough about me.
Now on with entertaining our TROOPS!
Thank You all for your service.
Without your volunteering to service our country, a trip as this might not be possible.

I SALUTE YOU SAILOR!

Home is the sailor, home from the sea:
Her far-borne canvas furled
The ship pours shining on the day
The plunder of the world.......

'Tis evening on the moorland free,
The starlit wave is still:
Home is the sailor from the sea...

A.E. Housman

WELCOME HOME!!!
GOD BLESS YOU,
MOJO
AND YOUR FAMILY!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Just got a call from my soldier boy.:)

He's doing great, sounds very alert and focused.

He's been doing lots of "medic-ing"; lots of heat exhaustion, one case of heat stroke, various & sundry other ailments. He's responsible for 3rd platoon of Charlie Company. OH-best part of all-I now have his address!!!:) :) :)

He says it is very hot & sticky in MS, and it doesn't help that they have to do PT in full BDU's, even if it's at 5:00....it's already hot.

He said they are training the guys hard and it is not easy but he's holding his own and doing just fine.
