Is Iraq Vietnam? Ask the troops
http://jewishworldreview.com/ ^ | Jeff Jacoby

Posted on 08/26/2005 7:32:49 AM PDT by manny613

Iraq war skeptics and critics have been invoking Vietnam almost from the day the fighting began. So Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska was hardly breaking new ground when he joined the invokers on Sunday. "We are locked into a bogged-down problem," he said on ABC's "The Week," "not ... dissimilar to where we were in Vietnam."

The MSM won't ask the troops -- because the answer they get is NOT THE ANSWER THEY WANT!!!

The troops are voting with their feet...they are volunteers and they are all running toward the sound of battle. In Iraq!

Thye know the risks to themselves and our country...and they know the critical nature of what we are doing there, against our enemies and for the Iraqi people.

This is not what the MSM expects or wants...and so they look for every opportunity to slant the story they would like it to be. They are simply projecting their own desires and anti-American aspirations on the story...but its not taking.

We had the ultimate poll and referendum on just this topic last Novmber. The results were clear, despite all of their efforts, and the efforts of the Michael Sheehan Morres to the contrary.

Exactly...but they would dismiss any answer they would get from the troops as merely "What the soldier had been ordered to say by the higher ups."

MSM (CBS, ABC, CNN, NBC) failing the US everyday...

The Communists, I suppose I should be politically correct and call them liberals, in this country won Vietnam for the Communists over there. They considered the millions of Vietnamese and Cambodians that died as a result to be simply collateral damage. They had far less compassion for the innocent than they did for the guilty Communist that we killed.

Iraq is a repeat for them. It may not be for us, as Jacoby points out the differences, but it is for the Communists here. The innocent Iraqis are ignored as expendable while the guilty terrorists are to be treated better than one would treat their own children. These anti-war protesters and the Democrats and other liberals are part of a well organized and continuing campaign to destroy the freedom and prosperity of the USA.

Communism in Russia and China are not dead, they are just semi in hiding. They always use surrogates to do their fighting for them and make the battle for freedom costly and distant for us. We can win any battle abroad if we can defeat the enemy at home.

Chuck Hagel makes the same mistake many others make, thinking they have to do something dramatic to separate themselves from the pack. McCain obviously comes to mind as does Frist. Were they smart enough not to listen to the political consultants they pay to tell them what to do, they would realize that we are more interested in honest, hard working, steady statesmen moreso than opportunistic politicians prone to gimmicks.

26,000,000 Veterans, and other great Americans that support the troops and their mission will take the Vietnam card away from MSM, educrats, and hollywood crowd.

The elites get away with it because they have successfully wrongfully defined the Vietnam War.

We along with the new media need to correctly define the Vietnam War thus taking the Vietnam card away from them once and for all.

Because the truth of Vietnam is the blood of millions of innocent civilians of South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos are on the hands of the elites who undermined America's will to support the troops.

The new media will correctly define the Vietnam War. Our children need to learn the truth. Millions of Innocent people where slaughtered because America did not stand up to MSM, educrats, and the hollywood crowd, and pulled our troops & support from the South Vietnamese army. Once Vietnam is correctly defined and MSM says "another Vietnam" the American people will rightfully think oh that war where the elites convinced the American people that we should pull out that led to the slaughter of millions of innocent people.
