"unless you are in the liberal dominated public schools."
I got news for you: I WAS in the liberal-dominated public schools. I watched as teachers spewed anti-American rhetoric in history class, and students actually responding to the lessons by saying what "horrible things" this country has done, and what "terrible liars" the Founding Fathers were, as the teachers nodded in agreement. You think it's easy to be in a situation like that?
But I think that such a problem can't be solved by "spying" on liberals. "Spying on them" only strengthens their resolve. Why? Because these people suffer from what I call LNM, or Liberal Narcissistic Martyrdom. They envision themselves in a cartoonish hyper-version of reality, where they are perpetually "heroic rebels" fighting the "corporate system." They become so wrapped up in this idea, of rebelling against the system, it begins to encompass their entire process of thought. They blindly follow their "heroic rebel leaders" like Michael Moore, to Hell itself, if he were to go there, as long as he was "fighting the system" and "standing up for the common man."
Then, by sending spies, what we are ultimately doing is feeding their narcissism. They become ideolically narcissistic because it creates self-worth to them. It makes them feel important, like they are making a difference, by "daring to stand up against the Conservatives" for "what's right." When they discover that we have been "spying" on them, they shake their heads, and say, "These people fight mean" and "that's what they do." Then they swear to become stronger, to fight harder, because it enforces their belief that they must be in the right, because the other side resorted to what they see as "dirty tactics."
The weapon of the Conservative should be intelligence, logic, and reasoning. We must defeat liberals, not by "spying" and "gathering intelligence," but by defeating them on the debate field. As they lose the argument, they turn into Howard Dean: they become shrill, angry, and desperate. It makes them look bad. It hurts their resolve, because they realize they could be wrong.
People, I am not a weak, backbone-less person. I'm not someone who thinks we should "run away" and "be fair" to the liberals. I just see that what is best for our cause, and beliefs, and ultimately our freedoms and liberties, is to have healthy discourse and debate in this country, not hate-filled "dirty tactics." Please understand that I am not suggesting we be weak in the face of the Left. I am, above all, suggesting what I see as the best way to win. Is that so wrong?
Why would we do this silly thing?"
Because, people want to know.
ligthen up francis.
Did you even LISTEN to the interview?
"Because, people want to know."
Really? Personally, I don't give a rat's behind what goes on at Camp Cindy.
Needs more seasoning.
"It doesn't sound like you know enough about what's really going on."
Classic argument tactic. Feign the ignorance of the person you're arguing with.
If you want to send "spies," fine. I won't like it because it's stupid-sounding, but do it. Send 'em to Soros' headquarters. Send 'em to Code Pinko's headquarters. Send 'em wherever. But I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that nothing valuable will be learned at Camp Al-Sheehani. There are crazy people there. They all have LNM. They are screaming crazy anti-Bush rants.
I agree that Cindy Sheehan should be exposed for the phony that she is. Howard Dean could go over there holding hands with George Soros to hand her a check for a billion dollars, for all I care. Politics is a dirty game, but ultimately, it is the voters who will decide. An amazing amount of anti-Bush campaigns took place last year. Didn't work, did it?
sorry about my spelling.
You don't reason with them! Let them start screaming! Let them go crazy! Let them cling desperately to their crazy beliefs, no matter what! Let them follow their rebel leaders all the way to Hell! That's where they'll end up, politically speaking. I just don't think anything valuable will be attained by sending "spies" to Cindy Sheehan's anti-war campaign.
Oh, stop it. Just because I'm new here doesn't mean I'm a 2-year old.
Don't be naive. Each battle is a new one in the war. And I stand by my statement, you haven't got enough facts. Fenton Communications is running the show in Crawford and THAT'S where they are and NOT Soros headquarters. Only flaming liberals would ever get access to any info or near Soros.
I agree.
"Fenton Communications is running the show in Crawford and THAT'S where they are and NOT Soros headquarters."
And that helps us win the next election HOW?
"Don't be naive."
PLease stop saying things like that. You're turning this into a personal issue. I'm just trying to say what I think is best for us, as I see it. It's called "Another Point of View."
"Do you think that the MSM will do that ?"
No, of course not. I agree, it is up to us. We ARE the new mainstream media. The old one, held together pillars like Dan Rather and Newsweek, is slowly beginning to crumble.
You know what? You win. Forget I ever said anything.
That's why you win. All of you win, and I lose. Now go have a victory celebration somewhere. I'll just go somewhere else, since "new people" aren't allowed to argue with any older, wiser FReepers.
Since you're a prophet, you might find Jeremiah 48:10 interesting. "Cursed be he that doesht the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood."
That is my final defense. I am crushed, defeat, blown apart. My arguments torn apart, my defenses penetrated, my reasoning burned to ashes. I am nothing.
