For the rest of his and his wife's lives, they will know that no matter what the cost was to repair their car, they were more than compensated by the conversation with you and your son.

Jeez! Thank you, budvol, for raising your son so he understands who our heroes are. God bless and keep safe this young Marine and his fellow military men and women.
Thanks, USMC Marine, for serving our country.
Great story. Thanks.
Great story! You should be very proud of your son!
Alright, now you've got an (inactive) Army officer reaching for the tissue box...
You are raising a fine young man. Thank you for an inspiring story. Please make an additional posting after the Marine and your son meet.
Ditto.
After the HERO left... I sat back and thought a bit and I started to tear up some myself ... and thought to myself what I ever did to deserve a son like I had... and I still have not answered that ?... he does go to a public school and is in 4th grade... but I guess I am blessed to live in a very special little town... the public schools are GREAT here!
I dont think I will ever forget this day as long as I live. You just had to be there... I dont think anything will match this day... my son said he couldnt wait to go to school Monday and tell everybody he talked with a US Marine... he got on the phone and called eveyone he could think of to tell.
He told me he couldnt wait till Monday to met the Marine.. and I ask him how excited he was to met him...And he said almost as much as Christmas coming up. I about hit the floor!!!!
GOD ITS GREAT TO BE A FATHER!!!!
Thanks for this post. God bless the Marines and all service people who are protecting us overseas and here at home.
(I have not served. My tagline honors my son and my cousin.)
Being his Dad is the best job you will ever have.
Please tell him that my 14 yr old son feels the same way, as a matter of fact, so do my daughters!
Thats 3 more hugs from this house!
