'Poor Dan Rather,' writes Jonah Goldberg at National Review Magazine. 'This is really his kind of story.'
Tim Graham says CNN's Anderson Cooper 'has his eyes on the Dan Rather prize.' The network had lots of anchors out in the storm, but Cooper seems to be closest to the anchor wrapped around a pole look.
Steve Harrigan dominated FNC's excellent coverage of Katrina. He stood at a 90 degree angle to the camera, buffeted by the Gulfport, Mississippi winds. 'Harrigan is doing an amazing job of riding this thing out. He's staring down the hurricane without hyping anything up,' an emailer writes.
Brian Williams was wise to position himself at the Louisiana Superdome. His cell phone reports became increasingly important as the situation began to deteriorate at 9AM.
FNC star Shep Smith was the first anchor on air from the French Quarter. His coverage, via phone, from downtown continues to be compelling.

I wish they's send CNN's Nancy Grace out there ... I'd love to see her big eylashes fly off down the street
LOL! Rita Cosby can go with her.
I really like Steve Harrigan. He is the most natural and most believable.
LOL! Very funny.

That could be deadly to the person they hit...
'There goes a piece of the roof flying past ready to impale me!'
And he had an F-Bomb dropped in his lap to boot!
yeah, I heard that.
Did anybody see Bill Hemmer anchoring the coverage on Sunday evening on Fox? When did he leave CNN?
And they say that the men are smarter??????? LOL
This 'stand outside in the wind and rain' coverage is so old already! Geeze, don't they realize how foolish they look... as in 'not having sense enough to get outta the rain?'
And now Sean is kissing their rear ends, talking about how brave they are for going into the hurricane.
I usually like Sean, but he can really go over the top sometimes and this is one of those times....
Maybe if one of these camera hogging idiots gets speared in the head by some sheet metal or a tree branch while on camera, they'll all agree to STOP TORTURING US!
LMAO!!
