PSKOV, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - United Russia, the majority party in the Russian parliament, plans to join the European Democratic Union in the near future, a senior member of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament said Monday.

"We are making attempts to join the European Democratic Union," Mikhail Margelov, the chairman of the Federation Council's international affairs committees, said after an international seminar, Assistance to the Formation of a New Europe, in Pskov (northwestern Russia).

Margelov said, "United Russia must have its own place in the European political spectrum."

That's exactly what Stalin thought too... He's just used slightly different words for "Russia"

Someone just needs to teach them that the definition of "Assistance to the Formation of a New Europe" isn't seizing eastern europe and setting up puppet communist governments via brute force & ethnic cleansing.

You do understand the fact that the Cold War ended 15 years ago, that the communists are a minority party and that the majority of Russians hated the Soviets, since it was Russians in Russian street rallies that over threw them....right?

I can just hear the cheering from communist America. can you?

"Yes" claims Stalin, "communism will one day take over the entire world, and we will enslave all mankind for the good of the Czars. Freedom will be a forgotten word, burned along with the books and civilzations that mention it" Grow that wheat oh farmer, for the collective!! But not a kernel can you use to feed yourself!!"

Yea, I've heard it all before...

Where have you been? The "collective" mentality is alive and well in Moscow. They want to return to there former glory. They are building monuments to their former leader all over the place in the Bolshevik republics.

They. . .

You're sounding a bit paranoid. Do you have some sort of history with collective farming that you perhaps ought to explain to us?

"You're sounding a bit paranoid. Do you have some sort of history with collective farming that you perhaps ought to explain to us?" Indeed I do. No need to explain it though. The fact that my ancestry has been wiped out in that part of the world is explanation enough. It's recent enough as well, so that survivors of it have been able to pass on their memories of those times to me.

Where do you think the Ukrainian and Polish population came from in the Chicago area, and why?

Where? Besides one bust to Stalin being put up in a backwater Siberian town, where are these statues? Love the claims that can't be proven.

Whatever.

Yes, the Bolshivik's were angels, they never slaughterd the orthadoxy throughout the USSR, Ukraine and Poland. They never starved over 10 million Ukrainians in the early 30's, and there isn't a large part of the population which still have those sympathies towards Stalin, Trotsky, and the glory of the Bolshivik red army.

A bust, two three? Who knows. Someone posted a story here not long ago about this rekindling of Stalinism throughout the former USSR republics. Read into it what ever you want.
I know Putin and many in his house are not what I would consider trustworthy and working with the global community
toward democracy. I see by his actions that he is positioning himself against the goals of our country, which are for more democracy and freedom. Why do you suppose that is?

That statement I never said, you're trying to put words in my mouth. You made a claim that Stalin statues were going up all over Russia. I challenged you to prove it, and instead you spill out this rubbish.

As for those who still "honor" Stalin, yes there are plenty of such people, most are members of the Communist Party, who's median age is 55.

A bust, two three? Who knows. Someone posted a story here not long ago about this rekindling of Stalinism throughout the former USSR republics.

Hay, you made the claim, I challenged you on it.
