BREAKING!!! - Weldon says records were ordered destroyed!! (Able Danger)
Dom Giordano Show - 1210AM Radio "Big Talker" - Philadelphia | 29 AUG 05 | Vanity

Posted on 08/29/2005 6:23:38 PM PDT by Lancey Howard

Congressman Curt Weldon (R - Pennsylvania) gave another exclusive interview to Dom Giordano this evening (Monday) and broke the news that he will be giving a speech on September 8th (next Monday) during which he will present yet another 'Able Danger' witness. This new witness will attest (and will swear under oath when called) that he was "ordered to destroy records" relating to the 'Able Danger' program.

This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.

The witness, who Weldon did not name, says that he was ordered to destroy records and was threatened with jail if he failed to comply. Weldon said that he has the names of the people involved, including the person who gave the order, and HE WILL NAME THEM in his speech.

Congressman Weldon also said that his staff has met with Senator Arlen Specter's (R - Pennsylvania) staff regarding the upcoming Judiciary Committee hearings. Weldon wants to be sure that everybody is on the same page. Weldon also said that he will do whatever he has to do to make sure that ALL the facts come out and that the process "is not manipulated".

Curt Weldon is like a pit bull on a steak. He expressed disgust with the "incompetence" of the 9-11 Commission and said that the victims of the 9-11 terror attacks deserve answers. Weldon is determined to see that they get them.

Weldon did express confidence in Tim Roehmer and John Lehman and speculated that perhaps the poor job done by the Commission was the result of an incompetent staff. Weldon sounded amazed and disappointed that so much important information was either glossed over or swept under the rug by the Commission.

Weldon will give his September 8th speech either to the National Press Club or to a "9-11 families" group which has asked him to speak. He apparently hasn't nailed down the exact venue yet.

(For those unfamiliar with Dom Giordano, he is a very good conservative local talk show host here in the Philadelphia area, an area which includes Curt Weldon's district. Weldon comes on Dom's show often and, like this evening, sometimes breaks news.)

Bad timing. Anything that doesn't have to do with Katrina isn't going to make the news this week. Not Natalee, not Cindy, not nothing.

By the time there's room for this in the news cycle, they'll be saying (Carville voice) "This heah's all ole news."

" Gorelick and Ben-Veniste had no place on that committee."

- I should tell you that I have not independently confirmed the claim as to how Gorelick and Ben-Veniste came to be on the Committee, only that the writer (internet source) seemed to have his facts well marshaled and gave the impression that he knew what he was talking about. Then again, the internet can sometimes be as reliable as the NYT when it comes to reporting facts. Caveat emptor!

Wow, this has Reno who AG and appointed by Clinton by an EO of April of 2000, as Assistant Sec of Defense in charge of Domiestic Affairs, name all over it.

Now we are beginning to see why he did that EO.

Incidently Clinton signed a rash of EO that week to cover his tracks.

Thank you for a VERY informative post. I had never realized this turn around occurred in our Dept of Justice.

The following quotes grabbed my attention (but the entire post is fascinating, Mary was FANTASTIC and a great loss to ALL OF US!

"To make matters worse, Lawton’s death wasn’t the only blow the Department of Justice suffered. In the span of the next 12 months, 6 of the 20 so-called “super-senior career attorneys” at the Department of Justice either died or left the DOJ."

I would love for those still living...if indeed..any are...to be INTERVIEWED as to what they observed and experienced as the clinton team swept into our DOJ and began their dismantling of everything regarding the FBI that could keep us safe.

" Every litigation division, except the Criminal and Civil Divisions, lost their senior career official. It was the passing of a generation—a critical brain-drain—and led future FISC Chief Judge, District Court Judge Royce Lamberth, to make yet another prophetic statement: “The loss of institutional knowledge will be difficult to replace.” He was right. "

I cannot help how I feel about this....this is the stuff of the CLINTONIAN ARKANCIDE Society.

Oh yes, it is.

All of this good attorneys were replaced under bill clinton's adm...with janet reno...the most inexperienced, unethical human being EVER to hold the post of AG.

Worse....this article ends by saying how rapidly the WALL was made....and names a Richard Shruggs, in last sentence, as the author of the WALL.

My guess...jamie gorelick took one of the positions of these austere top 20 officials in the justice dept. It would great to confirm if jamie worked closely with Richard Shruggs...that could be the sluge pot that lead to the rulings that allowed ATTA to be so WELCOMED into our homeland.

Wonder what is known about this Richard Shruggs.

For sure...if the clintons knew how to do anything, it was to clean up a house, erasing all vestiges of ethical, moral authority.

You have to admire this guy Weldon, he has the b--ls to pursue this investigation, leaving no stone unturned. It's been a long time since I've seen a politician so tenacious. Go get 'em Kurt.

The colonel said our service was no longer needed and told me: 'You just ended my career.' "

Friggin wimpy statement, that of the Colonel and one that put the blame were it did not belong. Blame doesn't roll downwards.

THEY haven't been out of power for more than 50 years. Some would say 400.

BILLDO AND SHRILLERY were just their greedy power mongering front people and prime examples of their values and habits.

Was the software developed to find Chinese/American political connection? Not likely in the Clinton era... So what was the purpose of the software? AlQaeda was hardly on the map at that point.

The Chinese have long been a "target" of MI investigations. The "purpose" of the software was to create the classic linkage charts long used by MI/CI in thier investigations (i.e. who is connected to who, etc...). by using databases and data mining, the process is expedited and linkage errors can be reduced. Al Qaida was very much on the map in 1998!

Clinton was much more worried about members of the VRWC than he was about members of AlQaeda. And he wasn't worried about the Chinese. What was the software created to find? Sounds odd.

Regardless of what some might believe, the CinC is NOT involved in day to day investigations - he may even be totally unaware that an investigation is ongoing until the very end! It is highly unlikely that Clinton even knew of AD's existence in 1998,99...

CENTCOM, whose AO includes the middle east (and Central America IIRC), would have, in the normal course of intelligence/counterintelligence operations, gathered "tons" of information - most seemingly unrelated - regarding terrorist threats to the US. Placing those pieces in the database, and gathering more depending on where the clues led eventually led to the identification of the terror cells. Furthermore, Chinese espionage activities against the military has always been a concern. Thus, information regarding such activities would also have been included.

However, as you stated, " Clinton was much more worried about members of the VRWC". IMHO, if he DID have knowledge of the existence of AD at an early date, it was as a part of a briefing by the military (a la "We're working on a new program to identify foreign terrorists and spies") and, since the VRWC was not mentioned, it was ignored.

Hi Alamo girl...I thought TPC's post was interesting...learning about Mary and her incredible career and service within our DOJ...YEARS of service...and about the top 20 attorneys there....and what happened to this group when clinton took office....and a name, new to me, of Richard Scruggs....who in the last sentence is named in this article as the author of 'the wall'.

Wondered if you know of or have documented any connections between Richard and the clintons...or Richard and Gorelick.

Thanks.

Does anyone know where Richard is now?

And was this man called before the 9/11 commission?

Hopefully they are AWARE of this man.

Another issue with the destruction of the GERMAN-built pharmaceutical factory in SUDAN was that Clinton was giving a warning to the GERMANS -- "Stay out of CHINA'S balliwick!". CHINA has oil interests in the Sudan.

Was ABLE DANGER a precurser to DARPA's Total Information Awareness?

The "Tool" used by AD would still be there and it is quite likely that it is the basis for the TIA.
