[Author goes "back home" to Oaxaca, finds out what Bush's kind-hearted folks think of the Minuteman Project]
[The MMP is] the talk at the local bar, in the back of taxicabs and on campus at Uabjo Universidad Autonoma Benito Juares de Oaxaca. One of my old friends there told me that he had planned to go and reunite with his son in the United States, but all the hype about the Minutemen was stopping him.
He said, "Pinches gueros culeros que no quieren que progrese la raza (Damn white boys, they don't want us to make progress)," and "Que mal les hace uno (What harm do we do them)?"
...Word on the street is that the narcos (drug lords) are going to give rewards to anybody who kills a member of the Minuteman organization...
...Everyone gathered around this older man who said he was a lawyer. "The only thing that these people are doing is pissing off the narcos, the coyotes and the Mara Salvatrucha (a gang that spans Latin America)," he said. Some of the folks laughed.
In the neighborhood where I was raised in Oaxaca, the narcos have a pretty strong following. They are thought to be generous with their allies and dangerous to their enemies. Even though people know the narcos are up to no good, the drug lords are thought of as people who don't forget where they came from, and don't forget their folks.
Before he left he bar, the lawyer said, "El narco no perdona, y la sangre va a tener que ser derramada (The narco doesn't forgive, and blood will have to be spilled)." The room cheered.

I hope someone tell's the Minutemen about this.
This is sort of harsh sounding, and I am liable to be flamed for it, but according to what I could find out, it translates "D*mned little f*ggot white boys do not want the race ("la raza") to progress," with "progress" in this instance meaning to gain territory, as best I can tell.
The translations are correct...
Hard to believe this is from Oaxaca.
ping
The translations may be correct, but they're also sanitized. Here's a clue to the piece's author: Navajo is a secret code. Spanish is not.
No doubt a room full of typical "we only want a better life" types. /s
Que mal les hace uno = That badly one does them = What harm does that do to one?
I don't think that it was sanitized... Unless there is a few quotes missing from this article
Uh, some of us are having a little trouble assimilating, are we?
The rally point is in Altar Mexico, remove it.
God bless the Minutemen for being a line of defense against this sort of trash.
Perhaps "progress" means spreading family values beyond the Rio Grande?
Speaking as one of the "damned white boys", let me say that I desperately do want Mexicans to make progress, gobs of it, at home where it is needed.
If the narcos wanted to find the quickest way to inspire a whole lot of gringos with scoped deer rifles to defend their border, this would be it.
The last time Mexico screwed with us they lost big...
Bring it again I say...
Mexicans are as good at fighting wars as Arabs...
Someone should tell the MMP.
Someone should also ask the Pacific News Service why they're promoting what appears to me to be racial hatred and violent threats:

Send them this for me.
"Si Usted Desea una vida mejor, construya un MÉXICO mejor."
this is lovely--overt threats against Americans by those who just want the "work no American wants to."
Are those damn vigilantes on the border causing more trouble with our peaceful neighbors to the south?
Remember , it's not just the gringos. I am an American of mexican descent, and I'd be ready to fight for my Country. Alongside of you any day! The reason my parents came here was they hate this part of Mexico. Unfortunately these crooks are what rule the country. My father despises most of the immigrants that are coming to our country from Mexico today. He always reminds me that it was he alone who paid to raise and educate us not the GOVERNMENT!lET'S KEEP THESE SCUMBAGS OUT OF HERE! We've got our own criminals to worry about.
I wish we could hear more from people like you!
Is the purpose of this article to evoke sympathy by citizens of the U.S., with threats against people who merely wish to make certain the laws about the border are enforced? If so, it is poorly done.
I don't think so.
"Pinches gueros culeros que no quieren que progrese la raza (Damn white boys, they don't want us to make progress),"
I will attempt a translation that will not get me band.
Crappie Arian rump rangers that dont want our race to progress.
Cheap talk is all it is! At least the provocateurs that we faced in AZ, had the guts to show up in person. What a spineless lowlife!
If any trouble starts it will be from the other side, and you can take that to the bank.
Bottom line... We'll be patroling the border COAST TO COAST in October, from Brownsville TX to San Diego CA, and this slimeball will probably still be hiding behind his typewriter.
"Guero" is actually "blondie" NOT "white boy." It is used to refer to blonde Mexicans as well (yes they do exist).
Culero means "faggot."
"Culero means "faggot."
Must be Mex slang? "Maricon" was the term the Cubans used in Miami when I was growing up. Cuban Spanish tends to be more formal than Mexican Spanish.
"Maricon" is used in every Spanish speaking country. "Culero" is largely used in Mexico and Central America. "Mariposa" (literally "butterfly") is used for "faggot" in Venezuela and Colombia.
I, as an American of Polish/Irish descent, appreciate that sentiment more than you know. Let's pray it never comes to that.
You don't consider turning the phrase "damn lazy Queers/faggots" into "damn white boys" to be sanitizing the quote? I would.
I'll have to get a translation later today to see just how sanitized it is.
So "damn lazy Queer/faggot" means exactly the same thing as "damn white boys"? That's absurd.
You can put your own expletive in the areas needed to get the point across.
Alternatively, you can drop them out to clean up the quote.
No, it wasn't "sanitized", just cleaned
