Two Cuyahoga County election workers indicted in presidential recount

CLEVELAND -- Two workers at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections have been charged with taking illegal short cuts in our local recount of last year’s presidential election.

A libertarian candidate and one from the Green party made the original accusations, and today a grand jury agreed.

Ballot supervisors Rosey Greer and Kathleen Dreamer each face six felonies.

The shortcuts wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the election, but were not the way the recount should have been handled.

The recount was a joke Bush was up by 118,000 votes, but the green and libertarian candidates helped by Kerry wanted a circus. So the election officials rightly tried to end the circus as soon as possible and the moonbats found a dem prosecutor to charge them with shortcutting a bogus recount.

Wisconsin was a close state and there was no recount, Bush won Ohio over 11 times more than Kerry won Wisconsin.

The ex-football player (and many other things) was Roosevelt (Rosey) Grier - not Greer. I know you probably know that, but for those who don't....

Michael Vu, the Cuyahoga elections supervisor, is a Democrat. Notice how that wasn't mentioned in the article, although it was a short stub.

I thought he played for the Rams, not the Browns.

Rosey Grier started out with the New York Giants on the defensive line with Katcavage, Modzelewski and Robustelli and then went to the Rams. Dumb move by my Giants.

As well as being a Christian minister he subdued Sirhan Sirhan when he murdered Bobby Kennedy.

Would there were more like him.

There's a red moon rising
On the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's a red moon rising
ON the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

Cleveland, city of light, city of magic
Cleveland, city of light, you're calling me
Cleveland, even now I can remember
'Cause the Cuyahoga River
Goes smokin' through my dreams

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on
Now the Lord can make you tumble
And the Lord can make you turn
And the Lord can make you overflow
But the Lord can't make you burn

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on

Randy Newman - Burn On Lyrics

Without the 3rd party complaining, it probably wouldn't have. I'm amazed at what goes on in my former home town of Cleveland, too.

I meet Rosey as a youngster, at the Rams Football camp in the mid 60's. His career kind of paralleled my Uncles whom moved from the Giants to the Rams in the early 60's

I remeber your Uncles name. I'm 54 and by the time I was 5 I was playing organized football. In fact my CYO team played at the Polo Grounds. Love football but am relegated to playing golf these days. :-}

The Board of Elections faxed the following statement Tuesday night:

"The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections issued the following statement today regarding allegations of violating election laws involving two of its employees:

'We have absolute confidence in all of our employees, and we stand unanimously behind the integrity of the election process in Cuyahoga County.

These allegations are based on interpretation of procedures, not on any suggestions of fraud.

The Board operates under the advice and counsel of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. The Prosecutor's Office was specifically asked to review the recount procedures consistently utilized by the Board since 1982. The Board was advised to continue operating under the precedent used for more than two decades. Unfortunately, this same process has now resulted in indictments based on alleged procedural defects.

We are confident that no employee of the Board of Elections would knowingly or negligently engage in any unlawful conduct regarding the 2004 Presidential recount. We, as Board Members, unanimously stand by our employees in the face of these allegations."

Thanks for that detail. Is there any other political background we can know about these workers?

I'm coming late to this thread because some Rats posted this as a "look what's being overlooked with all of the NOLA flood coverage" to an apolitical forum.

They certainly never cared about the Demcrat politician's son who was convicted of slashing tires of the rented cars/vans outside of GOP offices in some city (St. Louis?) on election day in an act designed to cripple their get out the vote effort.
