Charlotte, NC (northern part) $3.00.

Up a little over .70 in 2 days. Ironically, I had to drive to Atlanta, GA today. I made sure to have plenty of gas to get home before getting to Atlanta. It's just crazy here...

I'm a Deputy Sheriff in a county on I-24 Middle TN. We have had a run on fuel today, everyone filling up and stations are running out. Our Fuel man cuts off public sales at a predetermined level in order to support emergency services. I was called an advised by my Sheriff to top off my tank this afternoon before shift end. The Fuel man had already shut off public sales and turned on just long enough to fuel our Patrol Cars, Ambulance and Fire Trucks.

I remember 911, that night I broke up several fights at gas stations patrolled nothing but gas lots all of my shift.

We were also advised that fuel would go from $2.72 to $3.25 per gallon tomorrow AM.

I'm on the road right now on business (live in SW Fla) and paid $2.67/gal. in St Petersburg, FL. Paid $2.59 in Fort Myers a few days ago.

No lines at any of the gas stations I saw. All grades were available.

I have no idea, market forces are at work for me, AKA conserving fuel, I haven't driven a vehicle in days.

LOL, wish I was under 35, I'm in my 50's.

Oh yea, I remember it, and I remember the lines. I was in college at the time.

That's why I think the 10 gallons at a time would work. Because the person would know they could come back for another 10 when they needed it, and the person that felt they needed a full tank would just have to go through the hassle of hitting three gas stations, or pumping gas three separate times.

Like I said, many individuals that don't have a lot of commuting to do would be happy to just get their 10 gallons and wait till they needed more, and this would slow up the demand side of the equation, hopefully enough to even it out with the supply side.

I just paid $3.21 a gallon for 89 octane in Connecticut. The 93 octane was $3.49 and the 87 was $3.09.If the price of gas stays like this too long it will kill the economy, especially with the winter coming.I can't wait to see how high the price of heating oil goes this year.

It may not...Drudge headline says up to 10 airports may close due to fuel shortage

In Arizona last year we had a pipeline break and the panic took weeks to work out.

Central New Jersey.......Gas $2.99 per gallon at the no-name gas stations. Usually these stations are much cheaper but I think that they are having problems gatting new supplies and have jacked up their prices. $2.67avg at the brand name stations. Lines at all the cheaper stations.

Hess, Chevron, Sunoco, Valero and Conoco have their own refineries here in NJ so as long as they can get oil, they will have gas for sale. Not sure about the other brand name stations.
