It makes me ill when I hear Lautenberg question this President's judgement and integrity. Lautenberg was involved in one of the most corrupt ballot hoaxes in modern politics which included one of the most corrupt politicians in recent memory, Bob Toricelli (D), it's a joke that he would even open his trap on this one.

It's a constant "joke" virtually every time a member of the party that stands for negativity above all else open his or her mouth.

The only reason they aren't dismissed as the anti-unity obstructionists they are is the fact that the allied MSM, which still holds enough sway with the masses who lack the discernment to recognize how easily manipulated their opinions are, gives them a veneer of credibility, no matter how outrageous they become.

"To imperiously blame Bush "tax cuts," even while the huge horror of death and catastrophe is yet going on, for the failure of levees that never could work against a storm like this, and even for the Category 5 hurricane itself (!), these people reveal themselves as the lowest scum infesting our nation."

"Truth" is a quaint notion to the Democratic Party. Its all about PERCEPTION.

With the MSM's help, the Clinton administration proved that they can get the masses chanting their mantras along with them if they repeat them enough (i.e., "Bush lied".)

Every bad thing that happens to this nation is first and foremost looked at by these scum as "How can we use this to our advantage by making Republicans look bad." I truly believe that. There is nothing they would not welcome happening to this nation if it could be distorted to their political advantage.

"Wow! That article describes the current situation in N.O. to a tee! A disater waiting to happen."

Add that to the predictions made by the American Red Cross in 2001 HERE

This is a good article, and shows that the blame for this is widespread and goes back many years, involving both local and federal agencies. It may be quite true that the Bush admin was not sufficiently proactive on this issue, but it appears that no one else was, either.

You are entirely correct. They are true enemies of America.

"This is a good article, and shows that the blame for this is widespread and goes back many years, involving both local and federal agencies. It may be quite true that the Bush admin was not sufficiently proactive on this issue, but it appears that no one else was, either."

Here's the bottom line:

"It's been 36 years since Hurricane Betsy buried New Orleans 8 feet deep. Since then a deteriorating ecosystem and increased development have left the city in an ever more precarious position."

"Yet the problem went unaddressed for decades by a laissez-faire government, experts said.

"...A plan to restore the Florida Everglades attracted $4 billion in federal funding, but the state had to match it dollar for dollar.

In Louisiana, so far, there's only been a willingness to match 15 or 25 cents. "Our state still looks for a 100 percent federal bailout, but that's just not going to happen," said University of New Orleans geologist Shea Penland, a delta expert.

"We have an image and credibility problem. We have to convince our country that they need to take us seriously, that they can trust us to do a science-based restoration program."
