MSM: Take Note - Clinton's Contribution to the Katrina Disaster ( Must Read )
The Federal Register ^ | September 1, 2005 | EagleUSA

Posted on 09/01/2005 3:21:59 PM PDT by EagleUSA

The MSM began politicizing the hurricane Katrina disaster before it even happened. Of course, their one objective is to blame President Bush, our military and anyone else that represents an idealogical barrier to their agenda. What the MSM has not done, is look in their own backyard -- in 1998 the Army Corps of Engineers provided a Draft Request to pursue the protection of noted areas in the Gulf region, to enhance their ability to survive heavy hurricane damage. The project was summarily REJECTED BY BILL CLINTON as not important.

The complicit MSM is making insane charges and accusations based on emotion and hate. Here, in the Federal Register is SOLID FACT that thier poster child, BILL CLINTON, materially contributed to the conditions which permitted hurricant Katrina to dessimate the Gulf region.

"Shut. The. Hell. Up"

Good advice, take it.
The levees are not natural nor are the TV and predatory looters.
Tell the Kennedys to take a ride over the bridge the next time you talk to them.

Can someone explain what this means? Was it attached to some other bill that was "summarily REJECTED"?
-----
In simple terms, this was a proposal, submitted for approval and justified by the Army. Clinton said NO.

You are right - it is in horrible taste -- and that is why not only the MSM needs to be exposed in this regard, but if they want to politicize someone or something, LET'S DEAL WITH REAL FACTS as noted in this Fed. Register Draft Request. I am personally sick of the rotten MSM and their gutless reporting.

Was it Clinton or one of his toadies in the Pentagon? Does that kind of decision go all the way up to the Pres?

Good question -- not sure. What I heard reported was that Clinton canned it. End of story.

Blaming this on Bill Clinton is as stupid as blaming it on Bush. This problem has been on the horizon since the French and/or Spanish first settled the area.

President Bush can't get down in the mud and argue with the media, he has a job to do. But we can, and should, counter their lies with the truth.

Absolutely. ABC World News Tonight just spent 2 FULL pieces (about 10 entire minutes of airtime on their 22-minute nightly newscast) on blaming President Bush for "not doing enough." We are witnessing the MSM Smear Job of the Century. It must not go unchallenged.

Who is BLAMING it on Clinton? What is pointed out is that he had the opportunity, UNDER QUALIFIED ADVICE, that it should have been done -- and he chose not to support it.

Take it for what it is worth. The facts are in the Draft Request by the Army.

If my math is right Clinton has been out of office for 5 years. During that time President Bush has built up the massive infrastructure of the Office of Homeland Security. An orginization tasked with dealing with problems such as Katrina.

Perhaps instead of assigning blame our time might be better spent pointing out what is praiseworthy. High-lighting the superior preformance of this administration in comparison to previous ones goes a lot further than shaking your fist at slick willy.

Buzz

Eagle I read the request from the link you provided above, however I see no mention in it where Clinton denied the request. Am I missing something or is there another document that shows he denied the request?

I would really like this info to use on another website.

Well unless there was some reason the plan was flawed, probably a political decision like most things are. Boston sure enjoys it's leaky big dig. When was that deal cut? Is it as far back as GHW Bush? Or later? I really don't know.

Excellent point. We do better when we hold our fire and make sure we have all the facts. As we have done with Able Danger for the most part.

Main Stream Media -- a title which applies to the predominantly leftist/socialist pandering newspapers and networks.
