Yes! Fellow from CHARITY NAVIGATOR said to be very careful about donations. Anyone can go to their website to see how well a charity manages its money (should be at least 75 cents to the dollar going to on-the-ground help vs administration).

Avoid telemarketers, no matter who they say they are; bogus & just trying to get your credit card numbers. He also said, no matter where you live, if you can, give blood because the nation's supplies as a whole will be needing more donations.

charitynavigator.org, fema.org, salvationarmyusa.org, and redcross.org were the four "orgs" mentioned.

They would have gotten guff, but YES, at the entrance to the Super Dome four days ago, they should have anticipated what kinds of (some) of the people they would be hoarding in there in close quarters, and at the entrances, told female to go to one side, and male to the other. That would have split families up, though, and I doubt many would volunteer to cooperate. Now the result, though, is rapes in broad daylight right before peoples' eyes it seems.

Yeah, that's been angering me. Too many are seeing some black people loot and deciding that all of them are the same. Hell, we have some on here blaming ALL black people for a few's actions. There are always some who cause problems.

These people are not refugees as if from some undeveloped nation. These are Americans, our family, our friends, our neighbors and they need our help.
