Semi-News: Sheen Visits Sheehan

Martin Sheen, who portrays the president on NBC’s “The West Wing,” visited Cindy Sheehan’s anti-war protest outside President Bush’s ranch in Crawford Texas.

After speaking privately with Sheehan, Sheen, who called himself the “acting president of the United States,” announced that troops would be withdrawn from Iraq. “Ms. Sheehan has lost a child in this war,” said Sheen. “That’s too high a price to pay. As commander-in-chief, I’m ordering an immediate halt to all offensive action. The troops are coming home. Until we can figure out a way to fight a war where no one is killed, they’re staying home.”

Sheehan’s protest also picked up much needed support from David Duke’s neo-Nazi organization: The Stormfront White Nationalist Community. “Sheehan has brought out into public view the horrible injustice and irreparable harm done to our people by the Jewish supremacists,” said the organization’s hooded spokesman.

You're giving them too much credit. Lunatics are born that way. Liberals voluntarily prefer a fantasy world over reality. I think the best press shot of this meeting would have been Sheen and Sheehan sharing a joint. I've no doubt they did.

...Cindy Sheehan’s anti-war...

My son is in the military. I believe if something happens to him along the way, his mother will behave with more respect and dignity regarding his choices. It's hard for me to understand how a person can be as worthless a mother as Cindy Sheehan is.

LOL.

I actually got a two or 3 sentences into this before I realized I'd been had. It's very believable that "Martin" would do something like that. I guess when the Cindy's of the world do such unbelievable stupid stuff, something like this becomes almost 'normal'.

“Ms. Sheehan has lost a child in this war,”

Anbody else find this disrespectful? Her son was a 25 year old NCO, a bona fide hero and a leader who had just voluntarily reenlisted. Calling him a child seems belittling to me.

Frankly I'm sick of it.

Until we can figure out a way to fight a war where no one is killed, they’re staying home.

Fight a war where no one is killed? What in the world would THAT be? A gentlemanly game of tiddly-winks? -- Winner take all?

Sheeeeeeeeesh!!

From this point on, all wars will be fought with a best 2 out of 3 set of Stratego games. Or maybe even that's too confrontational..

I'm not convinced it isn't "The Onion" or "Scrappleface," recycled by a credulous "journalist" somewhere. This is just too much:

“Ms. Sheehan has lost a child in this war,” said Sheen. “That’s too high a price to pay. As commander-in-chief, I’m ordering an immediate halt to all offensive action. The troops are coming home. Until we can figure out a way to fight a war where no one is killed, they’re staying home.”
