This should win whatever award they have for Political Cartoons. If they had shown this cartoon to every single resident of N.O. years ago I wonder how many would have moved out?

The sad ones are ok. The funny ones though -- not at all politically correct you know. Not supposed to be laughing at others' expense. (yes, I AM kidding!)

Seriously, thanks for posting them. They are really good.

Yes. The toilet bowl one works on so many levels. Before and after.

It's incredible to me that the US has lost a city. As far as I can tell, New Orleans is no more, and will never be again.

And as far as I can tell, the public officials of Lousiana are idiots.

Prayers for the refugees.

You said it in a nut shell.

The NO mayor is an idiot and totally unfit for this challenge. The LA governor seems no better.

People depended on them for leadership and sound decisions and they were woefully lacking in both. They were their citizen's first line of authority and help. By the time they requested help it was too late to save what will surely be THOUSANDS of taxpayers. This hurricane and its aftermath were well known scenarios.

I know they didn't have the resources Guiliani and Pataki had at their disposal on 9/11, but this disaster was much more predictable than the terrorist hit on NY was.

The feds are not blameless either. They have the resouces to predict and prepare. They even fine-tuned regional disaster plans after 9/11. But the execution of the rescue/relief plan has proven to be horribly ineffective.

The suffering and losses of those who had the least is almost unbearable to watch. So is the incredibly poor planning and execution of the state and federal relief effort. How can this be with all our wealth and technology and will?

I'm for minimal government intrusion and states' rights. But this and national defense are exactly the areas we expect and demand something for our federal tax dollars.

I hope to see some uplifting news about quick progress now that our full resources are being focused.

For now I am heartbroken and disappointed.

The New Orleans Saints pic filled my eyes up ....again.

We are so lucky to have so many good people on the scene at so much risk to themselves. Bless every single one of them.
