NEW ORLEANS Sep 2, 2005 A huge oil spill was spotted near two storage tanks on the Mississippi River downstream from New Orleans, state officials said Friday.
The oil was seen in a flyover to the Venice area by the Department of Environmental Quality.
"Two tanks with the capacity of holding 2 million barrels appear to be leaking," the department said in a statement.
No further details were given.
And otherwise intelligent people are talking about rebuilding??? Fine. Just build the damn city north of Lake Ponchartrain. Jeez.
You're right. It's time to pull out of this quagmire.
Justice Souter has two words for your grandparents: "Eminent domain."
There goes the shrimping industry.
All those unemployed folk that are being trucked around would make a nice addition to a new CCC to rebuild NO.
Perhaps that would also change them into men.
I like to call it "IMMINENT Domain".......
I say we send them to Washington D.C. where they can expect the best Federal treatment. That and their votes would be worthless.
A large percentage of those people being trucked around to places like Houston, San Antonio, Dallas and other places will most likely become leaches on the public in those places for good. NO will be rebuilt without as many welfare citizens because they will be in Texas.
Pick-and-shovel brigades are a waste of money these days and are just an excuse for personal injury and liability claims.
Fires of unknown origin and oil leaking from storage facilities, all natural. S\
Even a very few of the Islamist types can exploit the disaster to make it even worse.
