Hey, these guys are seeing the worst of the worst and are begging for help. I've been watching while Shep has begged for two days for help, and he is getting no response. He is at his wits end seeing all the misery. You people being critical are not helping. THOSE PEOPLE NEED HELP. Personally, If it were me, I would go get them some help rather than beg to a TV screen for 3 days.

If I were given the choice of being treated by an American paramedic or a Cuban Doctor, I think I would go with the Paramedic. Not to say I dont appreciate the offer, but I am not so sure about Cuba's medical schools.
As a Retired Firefighter from Washington DC , I remember when DC was hiring Paramedics, and this woman showed up with a degree from some Island Medical school, She had to pass an exam before she could practice medicine and decided to join our Ambulance crews for a job between times. They tested her for a job as Paramedic and she didnt qualify , then they had to send her to school for an EMT certificate.
I am not saying all Island Doctors are as unqualified as her, Just that I dont know who certifies the certifiers down there. Remember somewhere in this world is the worlds worst Doctor, and some poor soul is sitting in his waiting room with an appointment.

Some 100 doctors could board a flight to Houston, Texas, as soon as today and 1,000 could arrive tomorrow and the day after, Castro said in a radio and television address.Dont do that Fidel, my goodness, they wont return to Cuba anymore...

What a fu*king mess! I sure would have thought that the "gooberment" would have had they're sh*t a bit more together then what we're seeing unfold on our tv screens. It's appalling to me, that we can have troops in Shri-lanka TWO DAYS after a tidal wave, and people on our own coast (and inland too) still don't have food, water, communication, or anything else. (like most of my family.) On the tube awhile ago, local station, they were talking about 1,000's of victims (bodies) on the MS coast alone. Now the "blame game" and finger pointing has started between the Dem's and Rep's in Washington while people die in the cities and towns of America. IMHO, this is not just a national disaster, it's a friggin' national disgrace... To think that this is happening in OUR country. I refuse to fall into any of the "moonbat theology", but the handling of this whole situation has been a cluster-*%$&. They knew the storm was coming, and GWB even took some precautions beforehand but for some stupid reason, I thought that the powers that be, had made some sort of plans for this scenario. Oh, and did you hear? All of 25 countries in the UN have offered help. (rant over)

One question though, where can Castro keep the families of 1,100 doctors?

I agree with you!
It would be a slap in the face to the United State of America to let any Cuban physican into our Country. We need to protect our borders, not open them to a hostile government.
Since when did Castro get so much "compassion". Send the doctors into the streets and ghettos of Cuba.
Viva Bush!

"I'm the son of Cuban immigrants and I'd rather drink New Orleans flood water than be treated by pseudo-doctors sent by Castro."
I knew it all along...but a word from the "horses mouth" confirms it...thanks...and tell your parents..."Welcome to America!"

Cuba would also send 26.4 tonnes of medicines. Lemme guess... The expiration dates stamped on the stuff are all pre-1956?
And FORGET Cuban doctors. They're really, really, really baaaaaaaaad!

Hmmmm, seems to be painting the diplomatic arm of the US government in an awkward place.
