"It was Republican Rick Perry and the people of GW Bush's home state of Texas. I ask you where is Ted Kennedy, Massachusetts, Dick Durbin, Illinois, Barbara Boxer, California, Pat Leahy, Vermont?"

A very, very good point.

Nah. The CIA has bigger fish to fry than a crooked mayor. If anybody takes him out it will be one of his mob associates who is concerned that he might turn on them to save his own butt. After all, didn't he charter a jet to get his family out and abandon the city he's supposed to lead?

My personal feeling is that he's not worth the cost of the ammo.

Remember when you ran away
And I got on my knees
And begged you not to leave
Because I'd go beserk

Well you left me anyhow
And then the days got worse and worse
And now you see I've gone
Completely out of my mind

And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa
They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa

LOL. MY 14 yo son just said Nagin should be worrying about the DEA coming after him, not the CIA.

I cooked your food
I cleaned your house
And this is how you pay me back
For all my kind unselfish, loving deeds
Ha! Well you just wait
They'll find you yet and when they do
They'll put you in the A.S.P.C.A.
You mangy mutt

And they're coming to take me away ha haaa
They're coming to take me away ha haaa ho ho hee hee
To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see those nice young men
In their clean white coats

And they're coming to take me away
To the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds
And basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa!

Good grief...Michael Moore must be writing for Nagin, now that Cindy is passe. This is so pathetic that I fault the press for scheduling interviews with this wretch. I say wait for the trial when his lawyer explains what he did with all the federal money allocated to NO for preparedness.

Oh good grief! He has definitely shown his true character during this disaster, but being a lady, I won't say it.

Exactly.

I'm about to declare that I'm officially Cindy'd and Katrina'd out.

I'm going to "moveon" with my life and turn everything off.

Except my mind.

"This guy was stoned, drunk or stupid from the git go. Did you see him in early interviews on TV? He was barely coherent."

I wouldn't doubt it, especially after listening to a taped interview that was posted here..Nagin sounded stoned, and his manner of speech sounded like a street punk. He certainly didn't sound like a public official, or even educated for that matter.

Hmmmmm.....sounds like maybe he is feeling pretty guilty that he didn't do more to get people out, so now he has to go around screaming how he tried to do more, but no one would listen.

My understanding is that he left New Orleans, days ago.

I saw it on a thread; don't remember which one it was; perhaps a fellow FReeper may have more specific information....(I hope).

I agree he has reason to fear for his life, but I don't think it should be the CIA he fears, it should be the people fortunate enough to escape from his city. Truly, he fears he will reap what he has sown. The Sept 2004 AP article proves he had adequate warning of what would happen and he ignored it.
