I'll have to go back through the threads to find it, but a freeper posted about a woman and her husband who were going to help a nurse manage a nursing home full of people. The people had a family member in the home. Allegedly, all the personnel left except the one nurse. This was pre-landfall too.

Did you ever find this? I've been trying to remember who that was. I had looked up that nursing home and it was a few blocks from the Superdome.

Her nurse wants nothing more than to get her somewhere so she can put her in a clean adult diaper.

What happened in the Convention Center reminded me of Clockwork Orange.

How many people died simply because of the lack of modern technology. I think of my elderly neighbor who is on dialysis. She is 86 and does pretty well. She still gets out and comes to our parties, but only because she has the miracle of modern medicine at her disposal. Take away her electricity, water and meds and she would probably die within days. All the environmental wackos that talk about this imaginary eden they dream about got a good look at what happens when you remove the technology that we all take for granted. They forget that because of modern technology many people live today who would have died just 50 years ago.

My guess is we will find out that most of the dead fit this profile; elderly, ill, on medication or regular medical care of some kind that just wasn't available under the circumstances or very young babies that didn't have the strength yet to survive under these conditions. It would be interesting to know just how many young/middle age healthy people died over the last 5 days.

My dad works there. He works with engineers (not sure what he actually does) and after all the $hit that has hit the fan, I doubt he will ever like to work there again.

Last night Bill O'Reilly on the Factor, FOX, said that the good docs at Charity Hospital I think in St. Bernard's Parrish, were holed up on the 7th floor while looting was going on below. They were giving themselves IV's just to stay alive since they had nothing left to drink or eat as they desperately tried to save their patients.

O'Reilly had not heard from the doc that said he was going to try to call him during his show. He didn't. I'm wondering does anyone know about this situation?
