Tehran, Iran, Sep. 04 Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the jihad against Israel must continue and be strengthened, Irans semi-official daily Jomhouri Islami reported on Sunday.
The only way to fight the Zionist enemy is to continue and increase resistance and jihad, Ayatollah Khamenei said at a meeting on Saturday with secretary general of the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad, Ramadan Abdullah, the hard-line daily Jomhouri Islami wrote.
Irans official policy is to call for the annihilation of the Jewish state. The countrys clerical rulers have been strongly opposed to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas attempts to reach a comprehensive peace settlement with Israel. In August, Israel removed Jewish settlements from the Gaza Strip after decades of occupation.
Khamenei said that the Israeli withdrawal was the valuable victory of jihadist groups, whom he urged to continue their struggle.
The Zionist enemys retreat from Gaza is insignificant if you compare it to the demands and rights of the Palestinian nation. But it was a great victory over the enemy and supporters of the Zionist regime. It showed the desperation of the occupiers of Quds (Jerusalem), Khamenei said.
Khamenei added that the failure of the United States in Lebanon and Iraq, and in its political confrontation with Iran were all signs of the enemys front losing strength.
A Daily Briefing of Major News Stories on Iran:
Is the US losing strength?
I must have missed the failure of the US in Lebanon and Iraq. When did that happen? Seems to me both countries have recently had pretty fair elections and sent the extremists packing...
TheU.S. is not losing strength, but as in Vietnam, we are pursuing a no-win strategy. Now we must redouble our efforts. do some bombing. Take out terrorists in large, massive chunks. Make it clear that you do not mess with the United States of America.
It really is time to take out the murderous dictatorship in Iran, the no. 1 sponsor of terrorism in the world.
Just because you don't like who they elected doesn't mean the elections weren't free and fair.
You just go ahead and think that and preach that. Try something stupid and we got something first designed by Prof Oppenheimer and since greatly improved upon for you.
Of course it was not a failure on our part. But you said: "and sent the extremists packing". Yeah, the bombing extremists, but not the supposedly normal extremists who want to establish a theocracy.
The rest of the world views it in much harsher terms because they cannot imagine handling a crisis (such as this) on their own.
And the band plays on while they plot to destroy western civilization and the state of Israel.
I'm surprised Khamenei found the time to make this foolish statement...are his aides having trouble rounding up 10-year-old boys for the old buggerer?
The Jews made a mistake back in 638 A.D. when they laughed Muhammad out of Mecca ... they should have killed him. But hindsight is 20-20. Who would have thought anyone would actually take seriously the rantings of an illiterate, epileptic pedophile? Their mistake was they didn't take into consideration the dementia of a population which was, and continues to be, the product of incest.
In order for that Constitution to get passed it has to be ratified by the Iraqi people - forget about that ever happening.

I am so very sorry to hear about Mr. Ganji. *sigh*
No, but this shows a mentality that makes me nervous. If this nutcase thinks that we are weakened in Iraq, and even more so here at home (Katrina) then he just may decide that this would be a good time to enact his Global Jihad. This man means what he says.....in an "ate up" sort of way.
This guy has been listening to the rats...
Yes.
This is a Cold War. Its a war between the Western free industrialized world and Muslim fundamentalist thought.
In the 50s, 60, 70s and 80s Europe had no choice but to contribute for their own survival. Today many in Europe are hoping the evil goes away, but are not willing to do anything. Even France contributed for the collective defense in Europe. Now we have a situation where weasels as properly defined by Rumsfeld are stabbing us in the back.
We are divided today. Look at Schroeder (Germany) and his comments warning the US on taking any military action against Iran. What signal do you think that sends?????
France wants to build its mini empire and works against us; the Germans are playing internal election politics with international threats like Iraq and Iran since 2002. The Belgians think they can stick their head in the sand and avoid the issue if they just stay neutral (Which you cant- the Islamist hates them too). Spain joined the league of appeasers after the Madrid bombings. All these nations contributed in the Cold War. While we have a huge alliance in Iraq, its a much bigger issue and outside of Iraq and Afgahnistan we stand alone.
Today we are in Niger, Sudan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Khuzestan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sinai, Republic of Georgia, doing real world killing. We are in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar etc. This is a World War which is between the Western Industrialized free world and radical Muslim fundamentalists that is being fought in North Africa, the Middle East and Caucasus.
As in the Cold War this will be a multi-decade campaign, where we carry the majority of the weight economically, politically and in blood toll. However, unlike the Cold War, many who are sitting in the boat with us all are choosing to stay on the sidelines, riding our shadow while criticizing us and justifying their do nothing attitude through schadenfreude.
Does this make us weaker? Absolutely!
