I was just watching a live interview by a FOX info-babe (Molly Henneburg)with the black mayor of Baton Rouge. She says to him, “I hear you have a very important person to visit tomorrow, tell us about it.” Mayor: “Oh yes, John Travolta is coming tomorrow to inspect the refugees.” “No,” says the interviewer, “It’s somebody bigger than that!” The mayor blushes and apologized as he answers, “Oh, of course, Oprah is coming tomorrow.” “No,” repeated the pretty blond, “Somebody bigger than that! FOX just clarified this...it was a private helicopter company, not military. Nonetheless, only minor injuries.

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON HURRICANE MARIA... LOCATED ABOUT 530 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF BERMUDA.

AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE CENTERED ABOUT 330 MILES SOUTH OF BERMUDA IS DRIFTING NORTHWARD. ALTHOUGH THE ASSOCIATED SHOWER ACTIVITY IS STILL NOT WELL ORGANIZED AROUND THE CENTER... CONDITIONS APPEAR FAVORABLE FOR THIS SYSTEM TO DEVELOP INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

SURFACE OBSERVATIONS AND SATELLITE IMAGERY SUGGEST THAT A BROAD SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM COULD BE DEVELOPING JUST OFF THE SOUTHEASTERN COAST OF FLORIDA AND OVER THE NORTHWESTERN BAHAMAS. THE ASSOCIATED SHOWER ACTIVITY HAS BECOME A LITTLE MORE CONCENTRATED TODAY... AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE SOMEWHAT FAVORABLE FOR ADDITIONAL AND GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT.
