I think the only thing that you could accuse the government of is that they played this one too much by the rules. A disaster of this dimensions would have called for a short period of dictatorship where the government JUST ACTS whatever the progress of formally necessary democratic procedures.

But i readily admit that would have made your political left even shout louder...

>> No puppies? No kittens? I knew it - Bush hates baby animals!

Don't even START on that! I know, I just know in my heart, that sometime within the next few weeks, PETA or ASPCA or some other group is going to hold a press conference, saying George Bush didn't do enough to save the Creature-Americans of New Orleans. That will be followed by environmental whackos saying that George Bush is a miserable failure when it comes to cleaning up the pollution and toxins from the hurricane. And so it goes......

Hey, I'm a sucker for puppies as much as the next guy. But human beings, our fellow citizens, have got to come first.

Are you kidding? Even if he'd simply held up his hand and caused the winds to die and the waters to recede, they'd have just sneered, "Ugh! I told you he thinks he's God!!"

The left seems to worship big government as having god like powers.

The truth is, it would not have mattered a wit what President Bush did; the media feeding frenzy would have altered course to fabricate/find or whatever was necessary to continue the attack. They are only capable of attacking, but never offering solutions. Sneering liberals never change--did anyone expect different?

"I hope the admn does not let the RATS win the PR war when it is clear they are the ones mostly responsible."

Many here are concerned about the same thing. I believe enough American patriots, bloggers and others, are copying documentation of the events of Katrina which lay out exactly the who, what, when, where and why of the entire debacle.

The lies and unfounded accusations will not go unanswered.

I do agree with others that this is not the time for the administration to go openly defensive, but to continue to act in a manner of quiet coolness, calmly and efficiently implimenting their rescue and rebuilding plan, while the whining Dimocrats wail and and throw barbs.

I want to know why George Bush didn't drive those school buses out of that parking lot.

Every time my liberal family members held something against President Bush (during the last election) I asked if they were setting a precedent for what was expected of Kerry if he were to win.

The replied with blank stares and stunned silence.

Very amusing, but incorrect. It presumes that W could have done something that liberals would have approved of. This is not the case! The left-wing, neocommunist, scumbag dems and their running dogs in the media exist only to weaken America. They do this by attacking W on every, repeat, every issue.

There is nothing W could have done that he wouldn't have been criticized just as vigorously for. It must be tearing Hillie apart to have to appear rational and stay out of the attack on America.

Again, amusing but misses the real point of the criticism by suggesting that the liberal dems care about what actually happened.

Very well-done. Pointed, yet chucklesome.

I have blogitized you in Update II to my (currently) top essay.

Gov. Blanco declared a State of Emergency on 8/26. Was the White House unaware of this? Even other posters on this forum have this data.

Really?..Link?..first I've heard of this...

Gosh, thanks (blush). I'm afraid I'm too humble to forward this to the radio guys, but you can feel free to do so if you'd like.     :-)
