At the end of this interview, General Honore rejects attempts to politicize the rescue and recovery efforts in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. "You can't vote that water out of the city of New Orleans," he says.

I just LOVE this guy! He gets away with shutting up the reporters in a way that would be unseemly for Bush or Chertoff. KEEP THIS GUY OUT FRONT FOR THE PRESS!

Very smart man. Too bad other politicians won't follow his lead.

He nailed a couple of reporters who were quoting criticism of the relief efforts: "It's a bunch of BS!" "Have you been down there?" (New Orleans) He's getting tired of all the media second guessing.

Gen Honore is my kind of guy. I like how he told that reporter who was quoting some congressman about there being too much red tape involved with the effort. His precise words were: That is BS! I just loved it. That Cajun took care of the liberal media the way I wish some of the GOP would.

I love this guy. President Bush made a master decision when he put this guy in charge.

I hope he gets a one on one with Christiane Amanpour. I'd buy a ticket to see that.

A list of my favorite Honore quotes:

"If you ever have 20,000 people come to supper, you know what I'm talking about. If it's easy, it would have been done already

"By-and-large, these are families that are just waiting to get out of here. They are frustrated; I would be, too. I get frustrated at the cash register counter when the paper runs out."

"Worse things have happened to America," he added. "We're going to overcome this, too. It's not our fault. The storm came and flooded the city."

An NBC reporter asked General Honore "What's taking so long?" Honore answered: "This is a Disaster. This isn't something somebody can control. We ain't stuck on stupid. "

Heeee! This guy is a HOOT. I loved that press conference! Chertoff could barely keep from laughing. And then when that reporter said, "Just to clarify..." That voice in the background - it may have been Brown - said, "Seemed pretty clear to me." LOLOL

Honore was my husband's CO at Fort Stewart years ago and he's still the same ole "Ragin' Cajun"! LOL

My husband used to actually get into arguments with him back then and he used that same line with my husband, "That's BS!" LMAO!

I say Honore handles ALL Katrina press conferences for the foreseeable future.

A leader has emerged. General Honore.

I've been waiting to see who would take charge. Thank God for the General. I pray that he will continue to find the right words whenever he is confronted by the Fifth Column.

He did a great job today. He is not mincing words.

I'm wanting to read the transcript (or view the video) of his news conference where he told off a woman reporter and then ended the conference.

Anyone have it?
