Why haven't I heard of complaints from Miss. and Ala.?
Everything I'm hearing is coming from NOPD and Louisiana Gov.
Am I not reading the right news articles??

I saw that interview and as I recall he was placing most blame on local and state governments..the CNN headline makes it look like he was blasting Bush, but I don't think that was the case..

Nagin abandoned the poor of New Orleans, just like Kerry abandoned the people of South Vietnam and just like Cindy Sheehan wants to abandon the people of Iraq.
It's beginning to look like Nagin and Blanco and their cronies can't read. Otherwise Nagin and Blanco would have been aware, I imagine, of this study which shows that poorer people do not move out of a hurricane's path as often as people of means do, and special steps need to be taken to protect them.
Citizen Hurricane Evacuation Behavior in Southeastern Louisiana: A Twelve Parish Survey
Released by The Southeast Louisiana Hurricane Taskforce, July 2005.
The study concluded (page 6) that
The number of low income residents who remain in harms way illustrates the need for both
education about the need to travel far enough1
and
providing evacuation assistance to those without means2
1. I don't think Nagin emphatically told his poorer constituents that they needed to evacuate at a distance, to high land, rather than take shelter in a friend's "stronger" home.
2. I know I don't have to ask if Nagin sent buses to evacuate his poorer constituents.

Who was president when that happened? Hm...
To: lunarbicep
The United States deployed 40,000 troops into the area with equipment and provision for an entire city. The troops and equipment had to move into an area the size of Great Britain that was ravaged by hurricane, with land operations obstructed by debrist. They secured the city and evacuated it, then they fixed the levees. This was done in less than one week! They deserve our gratitude, not Bill Clinton's condemnation. He is such a putz.

Bill Clinton should know better than to make these kinds of remarks. He also should thank his lucky stars (Marxists ones) that the public isn't aware of what he himself DID NOT DO when he was in charge. If they did, he would be ran out of town on a rail so to speak.

Exactly what does he want to investigate? Does it concern the 20% of NO residents who refused to leave the city? Maybe the 145 school buses parked 1.2 miles from the Super-dome that were never used in the evacuation? Bubba is a snake and will always be a snake.

The buses weren't running. Most of them have probably not left the city of New Orleans in their lives. These are not a traveling people.
I agree they did not do all they could to save themselves. But many had little knowledge of the ways of the world outside their neighborhood.

Perhaps it could be that the governors of Alabama and Mississippi had their emergency plans in place, and the mayors of any towns affected had their plans in check, too.
...Or, as we probably can guess, the RAT Media is over playing the Race Card, since New Orleans is 70% black, and has a black mayor and possibly an all-black city council.
You decide.

Yep, the failures were on the part of the State of Louisiana. Putting aside New Orleans, is there any place in Louisiana were relief efforts were going smoothly? How is it that other States can handle hurricanes without neglecting the safety of their citizens?
To: lunarbicep
Yeah, Bill, let's do a thorough investigation of this as well as a thorough investigation of your derelictio of duty when you were president.

Clinton is correct. Bush caused the Katrina and the devastation that followed, Bush wanted to make sure the Gays would not have their yearly Gay Mardi Gras, aptly named Southern Decadence.
The Hurricane did not dissuade several dozen gays dressed in tutus and Grass skirts from marching down Bourbon street to the delight of spectators throwing beads from balconies. The uniform of the day for the spectators was birthday suits.
Did not see this in the main stream press?
