Volunteers try to reunite boy with dog

NEW ORLEANS People everywhere are trying to help reunite a young New Orleans boy with his dog, Snowball.

The story of the tearful boy torn from his dog while being shuttled to safety last week prompted an outpouring from around the country.

Volunteers have been scouring shelters, posting notes on the Internet and making phone calls. The head of the Louisiana S-P-C-A says "Everyone wants to know about Snowball."

A Florida woman was so distressed that she started a reward fund and set up a Web site to help reunite people with their lost pets.

There's a ray of hope. The United Animal Nations said yesterday that Snowball was safe, citing news from the state veterinarian's office. But there's some confusion as to whether it's the same dog.

Animal welfare agencies have been working to rescue hundreds of animals left behind in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

Curiosity *may* have killed Schrödinger's cat

I have it from a good source that Curiosity was framed.

Understood, but in a shelter, it would become a problem. What if you have dog fights, cats running on the counters, urination and poop problems, etc. In the end, they are just animals when compared to human life.

Hopefully, the policeman will take that pooch with him and give it back to the boy.
