"Gawd I hate sites that don't know how to write html that workd in all browser..."

Please explain -- not everything works everywhere when complaints are cryptic at best.

That's what liberals do! ;>)

Simple. If you aren't running IE, forget it.

In MacintoshLand, running under Mac OS X, you'll have to use the last version of IE available to see it. Camino, Safari, and Opera won't display it.

I'm not expert in this, but it appears the site used some HTML that is IE-specific. All I got with Firefox is a black window. IE has had enough holes I prefer not to use it at all, but as it is I use it only when work requires it.

It is also limiting if one is using a platform that doesn't support IE -- say, Linux.

Fellow Freepers:

At the suggestion of writer Michelle Malkin last Friday, I have cobbled together a blogsite called Texas Clearinghouse for Katrina Aid to serve as a clearinghouse for refugee efforts in Texas.

Texas is getting more refugees than any other state -- that's fine, we'll take them all -- but we need help providing them with food, clothing, and shelter.

If you are a refugee, you can information that will help you find relief. If you want to donate or volunteer, you can find someone who needs you.

Right now the site mostly covers Houston and Dallas but I will add various churches, schools, and other charities in San Antonio and Ft. Worth tonight. My wife is down at Reunion Arena in Dallas as we speak handing out care packages and otherwise ministering to the refugees as a representative of her employer.

There are a lot of churches and other organizations in Texas that need help in dealing with the problem and I would be most appreciative if you would get the word out.

Many thanks,

Michael McCullough

Stingray blogsite

To everybody who feels superior to anyone else who does not do everything 100% correct - error free - totally politically correct as all good liberals feel ..... and prefer to simply bitch moan and groan - like those laying on te ground mixed in their own feces and urine demanding WHY doesn't the gubmint help?

Want to be useful?

Here is the the URL of the FIRST of 39 photos:

http://www.gohotsprings.us/katrina/Katrina_sDevastation_files/1.jpg

Now - if you want to look at them --- add ONE to the number -- to further explain for the liberally school trained - that is ...
1.jpg
2.jpg
3.jpg
4.jpg
etc

Now excuse the F out of me for trying to get an air crews photos up as soon as he sent them to me in that format.

Now - if you want to look at them --- add ONE to the number -- to further explain

And I should do this WHY? Even under IE the pictures are distorted, and presented all out of the proper perportion, and further there's nothing new there. S.O.S. as has been repeated in a thousand web sites over the last few days.

As for the snide remarks you opened with, remember YOU were the one posting the link to crap pages, not us. Maybe you can find a Junior High kid to help you out.

Ahhh now I see - a script-kiddie leftie sneaking in the adult area thinking he is actually grown up already.

Go back and suckle on your mama's breast some more. Maybe one day we will actually care what you have to utter.

An educated person with good manners would have simply stated, "Hey! TI cannot view the files using my "xxx browser" program - can you help?"

Then a short explanation of the errors would have been appreciated by everyone else that was not using IE OR have access to PowerPoint Presentation (the other format for businessmen).

Then I would said "Thanks for the heads up - I;ll get right on it."

And shortly thereafter I would have simply given the updated direct links to the pictures that a grown-up would appreciate.

I am 81, don't know what I'm doing. I just click where it says click and it worked beautifully.

I have very inexpensive computer but have windowsxp,
My son, who sells systems, installs them, programs and maintains them. He thought this is such a "
cheap" machine it wouldn't do what it does. It is an "E" machine.

I was 79 when two of my sons decided I should learn to use a computer. After much argument and a little at a time, I think I do pretty well. I don't even know the terminology that all here talk about.

My son told me to do whatever I want to, if it messes up he can figure it out and get me back to where it was.
He is going to fix it so he can take care of any problems from his home. He lives two hours away. Right now I can call him and tell him what's on my screen and read anything that comes up and he tells me what keys to use or whatever and it usually comes back to what I want.

I don't know html from abc.

You're doing fine, the main thing is to put in enough
online time so you're comfortable, and you'll learn something new everyday.

Glad to have you here, Welcome.

LOL! You go frannie! I'm so proud of you. So many seasoned citizens are afraid to try anything new. You ventured out and found this wonderful place where you can meet and talk to folks and keep up with what's going on. I'm only 71 and I have the same problems you have. My son lives closer, thank God. When I have a glitch, I just yell. I really wish more older folks would learn enough to find things to do on the net. It would keep them from being lonely and bored. Wish I could give you a big hug (((((frannie))))).
