Senator Reid is looking more and more like an hysterical, senile old man who has spent too much time wandering around without a hat on in the Nevada desert sun.

What a jerk. But we knew it would come to this.

The radical Dems, having lost an election, want to re--enact the Nixon routine.

What part of "never truly on vacation" doesn't Clueless Harry understand?

Speaking of Nixon, I'm starting to think that liberal Democrat baby-boomers are literally obsessed with the years from 1960 through 1974. JFK is their hero, their perfect President who all Dem candidates should emulate. In their view, Johnson is the Democrat who lost his mind and escalated the Vietnam war when there was no possible threat to the world from a communist takeover of South Vietnam. In their minds, the Vietnam war proves that all wars are senseless slaughters and the US military is evil and brutal because of its partcipation in the Vietnam war. The Watergate scandal that forced Nixon to resign is the be-all and end-all of liberal political victories which they try desperately to repeat with all other Republican presidents.

I've noticed just how much of PBS's historical broadcasts are devoted to the years from 1960-1974. I'd say about half of their historical broadcasts cover this 15 year period, when all those PBS baby-boomers were in their exciting high school and college years. (I was too and it was exciting, but I've moved on mentally from that era.) PBS has done a huge number of documentaries about Vietnam, the history of Rock & Roll and Pop music, Johnson, Kennedy, Nixon, Watergate, how the press covered Watergate, how the media covered Vietnam, and how PBS itself covered everything from 1960-1974.

Liberals are obsessed with Watergate and they so passionately want to play that song again and force another Republican president out of office. Clinton, of course, was the POTUS who the media should have forced out of office but didn't because he's a Democrat and he was supposed to become their next JFK.

If I recall correctly, the good folks of LA and the Gulf Coast had to wait a week for congress to come back from their vacation so they could vote on an aid package.

Of course ole Harry can't remember that long ago.

It's really sad that the Rats had to go down this road and blame the President because it has tended to erode the heartfelt sympathy that many felt watching those horrific pictures.

Words fail me.

Why is that? Of course the President should have been on the ground in NOLA prior to the storm directing evacuation.

LOL...I think you're right. This politicization of Hurricane Katrina by the Democrats is the start of their attempt to crack the GOP's strong southern base in 2008.

"he was supposed to become their next JFK"

He had all the experience except the war record.

The libs always rpesent Viet Nam as a total failure.

If we HADN'T gotten involved in Viet Nam, its very likely Communist insurgencies would have spread from Viet Nam to the Phillipines, and Indonesia. The war ruined Viet Nam's ability to export communism.

But since Libs think Communism is as fine as Islamofascism, they ignore the connection.

"The war ruined Viet Nam's ability to export communism."

How so? Couldn't Vietnam still export communism after 1975, or was it too poor and beaten up to make the effort?

here's another one

President Bush is handed a map by Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Hagin during a video teleconference with federal and state emergency management organizations on hurricane Katrina from his Crawford ranch, August 28, 2005. The President approved major disaster declarations for the states of Louisiana and Mississippi, clearing the way for the use of federal money to help respond to Hurricane Katrina, the White House said. In addition, the President urged the governor of Louisiana and mayor or New Orleans to issue mandatory evacuation orders.

I guess the President doesn't have 50 phone lines into Crawford and 25 people manning these various communications to keep him totally and completely in the loop.

Oh, and that video conference never happened, just a figment of our imagination.

Everywhere Bush goes he's got wires coming out his butt. He's never out of touch with the gov't. This is just more outrageous crap. It's making me tired.

I think Viet Nam was pretty well on the ropes militarily after we pulled out.

And we could have won that war if the Democrats in COngress hadn't sabotaged Nixon's war efforts.
