Hmmm.. the cost, the cost, and for what.. This state has been corrupt since Huey long, probably before that as well. 1.9 Billion just for public works in the last 5 years, highest in the nation. Maybe we should cut our losses and give Louisiana back to the French. /semi-sarc off

Like the Big Dig, now the Dems are figuring out how all American taxpayers can pay for a sports stadium for NO.

Who put you on the Superdome destruction team? You better give me your official address in Baton Rouge or else shut up.

These days, 30 years is pretty old for a stadium anyway.

That would make me pretty old in stadium years I guess.

Some people sure know how to ruin someone elses day without even trying.

I agree it should probably be razed, but I imagine having no sports facility will rob the city of a large source of tourist dollars - I wonder how much exactly the dome generates in terms of income for the city each year? They should not receive any federal money to rebuild it though - but rather, have to strike some deals with private investors or something.

I think the only way this city can rebuild successfully is to bulldoze the slums, don't build them back, and begin focusing on how to attract INVESTMENT rather than handouts.

Time to get Blanco out of the decision business.

The Junkyard Dog tore the house down in his famous Dog Collar & Chain match at the Superdome in 1980. Hayes had blinded the JYD and this was his revenge match! It drew 26,000 - an awesome attendance for wrestling then (or today) and is one of the great feuds of all time.

I think JYD was buried in NO. It just occured to me that his remains may have been swept away...
