FReep of Code Pink's Quagmire at Walter Reed, Sept 2 (Heavy graphics, Join us Sept 9!)
DC Chapter ^ | Sept 8, 2005 | BillF, with tgslTakoma and bmwcyle photos

Posted on 09/08/2005 12:09:20 AM PDT by BillF

For the fourteenth week in a row, FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond have outnumbered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  This night featured a brief confrontation in which a leftist walked at least fifteen feet towards us, bumped into tgslTakoma's camera as she had her hands on it and face against it (video and audio of this confrontation are below, MUST SEE/HEAR).  The leftists complained when I shouted at the apologetic guy, who claimed that it was an accident. On a more positive note, two Walter Reed staffers told us of the patients enthusiastically looking forward to our presence each week.

That most important part of the FReep occurred late in the night, but should be described first. Two young Army medics, one woman and one man, came over to thank us for being there. The woman told me that there are 6 patient rooms at Walter Reed where patients gather to watch out the window and cheer the FReepers' arrival.  They eagerly tell other patients, who then come into those rooms to look at the MOAB (tgslTakoma's great Mother-of-all-Banners), the American flags, and the FReepers. Patients, who are unable to come to look out the window, are told that the FReepers have arrived. (One or more of the troops looked up on the internet and found out about us including that our huge banner is named the "MOAB.")

When the wounded troops and Walter Reed staffers look out the windows next Friday, will you thank them for their service? Will you be there?

Is your time too valuable to thank those troops by standing with the FReepers on Friday night? At least one Friday night?

Although we outnumbered the leftists again this week, the leftists have gained from the week before. We need you (that's right, I'm talking to you) to be there this week.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Many of the most severely wounded troops from the war in Iraq and Afghanistan are taken to Walter Reed for continued treatment and rehabilitation. The Pinkos other goal is too demoralize those wounded troops, but wounded troops have repeatedly thanked us for our presence as an antidote to the morale-sapping leftist antics.

Incredibly, Code Pink cannot muster enough people to achieve their desired fraud and deceit at their Walter Reed protest in the liberal bastion of Washington, DC, a city filled with left wing activists and where about 90 percent of the people voted against George Bush.

Do you think that the Pinkos are sickos to have an anti-war demonstration at a hospital holding war-wounded? Then please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

This was Twentieth Fabulous Fun FReep of the Code Pinkos as FReepers continue to frustrate the Pinkos' evil scheme.

As we have done on a number of these FReeps, we ate pizza on site at the FReep.

The honor roll of those in attendance:  Albion Wilde, tgslTakoma, Justanobody, lurker Joan, Landry Fan, Pleadeal, 3D-Joy, Angelwood, kristinn, W04Man, PRA, Flora McDonald, Mr. Sarcastic, Mrs. Sarcastic, NRA1995, Doctor Raoul, beandog, Coop, TellW, Christopher Lincoln, Jack Deth, Hannity watcher and her daughter and son, Tanker Todd, lurker Kathy from VA,  Taxman (up from Florida!), wife of Taxman, lurker Doug of MD, lurker Dawn, lurker Andi (check out her outstanding report on her great blog), lurkers Ethyl and George, Annapolis wife, lurker Laurie,  Fraxinus, BufordP, Cathy, bmwcyle, Apple Blossom, lurker Mary, lurker Patrick, lurker K.C., and BillF.  This was our second highest attendance with a total of 48, the 44 named above and an additional four whose names I didn't get as I circulated through our group as people were also circulating around our area.

In view of the large number of participants, many of whom we were happy to see for the first time (and we hope not the last), I may not include names for some of the FReepers and lurkers if I don't remember them. Sorry about that, but I'm happy to have the problem of so many people that we can't keep track of them all.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep.

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW. Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report. As it got progressively darker, my telephoto lens shots became less clear, requiring software enhancement. You will notice that people look more like cartoon characters in my later telephoto lens photos. tgslTakoma got brighter photos in the dark by having the camera aperture open longer, but the trade-off is some blurring if people moved when the aperture was open. If I ever learn my camera's features better, I'll have to try her tactic because it does work better for the photos after darkness falls.

Unless labeled otherwise, the photos were taken by me, but many photos, marked with an asterisk, were taken by tgslTakoma and one photo as labeled is from bmwcyle. (bmwcyle has his full outstanding collection of photos here.) I've cropped most of the photos taken by these two outstanding photographers.]

Opposed to our 47 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get 34 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers have endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers."

Unfortunately, the Pinkos had expanded their permit. Instead of simply covering the southwest corner of the intersection at the Walter Reed main gate, their permit now covered the northwest corner. They required a FReeper to leave that NW corner near the beginning of the protests. The FReepers had permitted both corners on the east side of Georgia Ave, the main street passing by the Walter Reed gate.

Late in the evening, the northeast corner where we concentrate pro-troop signs, as taken late in the FReep [* = tgslTakoma].
The huge banner, legible to wounded troops in the hospital, is tgslTakoma's MOAB (Mother-of-all-banners).

Early on, Gael Murphy walks with Special Guest, alleged to be an Iraq War veteran, towards the guy with "Quiet zone sign.

As shown on the above photo, the Pinkos have a new sign "Quiet Zone Soldiers Healing." The unintended irony of that sign is beyond belief. They hold an anti-war protest outside a hospital and then tell others to respect the need for soldiers to heal by being quiet.

Chief DC Pinko Gael Murphy proudly walked this Special Guest guy (above) over to the group as if she finally found the propaganda poster boy who was going to win the war for her side (the Iraqi resistance, see here and here). Then, as if to emphasize the insincerity of the "Quiet Zone" sign, one of the leftists shouted to us across the street that this guy, who had walked up with Murphy, was an Iraq War veteran. As noted above, it's been a long-sought goal of the leftists to have a "John Kerry" for the Iraq War.

It is unclear whether the guy is an Iraq War veteran or not. It's possible that Code Pink have found a long-sought anti-war veteran to bring to these events. On the other hand, many in the Vietnam Veterans Against the War were not really Vietnam veterans. Indeed, some had never been in the military.

If he is an Iraq War veteran, who simply thinks that the war was unwise, one wonders whether he has knowledge of Code Pink's active support of the  "Iraqi resistance" (see here and here), as they are fond of calling the terrorists fighting our troops in Iraq.

FReepers laughed when we first saw the "Quiet Zone" sign. We don't have signs encouraging people to honk, precisely because it is a hospital zone, but Gael Murphy has honked for her own side on other nights when she drove up. In the liberal bastion that is DC, honks of support have overwhelmingly favored our side. Now, the leftists pretend that they want quiet.

bmwcyle asks a leftist to leave our permitted area. The leftist,
pretended to be a press photographer, but had no press pass. *

The incident at the above right photo led, very indirectly, to tgslTakoma having her camera jammed into her face sometime later in the night. In the original incident, bmwcyle asked a leftist photographer to leave our permitted area. The leftist was trying to circulate in and among the FReepers.

(This leftist in our midst brought to mind that Code Pink had sent 3 disruptors with "Kill the Poor" signs into our group on the first night that we FReeped them at Walter Reed last March. The three, including one who ranted about wanting to kill people and said that he had a gun in his pocket, fled just ahead of the police. Details are here. Of course, the Pinkos have recently said that they wonder if the people with them holding up inappropriate signs might be "infiltrators," but it turns out that one of most disgraceful signs ("Maimed for a Lie") was held by a leader of one of their co-sponsors of the obscene blood dance.)

Code Pinkos include VA benefit and similar signs to deflect from
their endorsement of "the Iraqi resistance" (see here and here).

protests, is at the left end of the Pinko line.*

Murphy confers with her Special Guest. New signs at right address soldiers' email, blogs, and First Amendment rights.

Both Murphy's "Let them heal" sign and the "Quiet Zone Soldiers Healing" sign are disingenuous attempts to deflect
from the fact that the Pinko blood dance is a cruel, psychological warfare scheme to undermine the war-wounded soldiers
when they are vulnerable. *

Leftist walking across the street to join the Pinkos (photo cropped
by me from a bmwcyle photo). bmwcyle has his full outstanding
collection of photos here.

The leftist in the photo to the left, had threatened me for taking his photo from a distance at another FReep. At that earlier FReep, he later walked at least 6 to 8 feet and touched a paper against tgslTakoma's camera as she was trying to take photos. I was able to photograph him pushing the paper into her camera.

On this night, tgslTakoma and I walked about 1/2 block down from the leftists before crossing to the Pinko side, but well removed from them. Carrying no signs, we walked to about 20 feet from the edge of their group, well outside any zone that they could reasonably bar us from using for photography.

Leftist photographer, who earlier had the run-in with bmwcyle,
came up to tgslTakoma and I.

I took some photos of the FReepers across the street, trying to get a wide view of the MOAB. The darkness prevented me from getting as good a photo as tgslTakoma's photo that is the first photo at the top.The leftist photographer, who bmwcyle had told off for walking among the FReepers, walked over 15 feet to complain about us standing 15 feet down the way from them. I clicked the above right photo of him as he walked back to take our photos.

CLICK HERE TO LISTEN TO SOUND FILE OR RIGHT-CLICK TO SAVE AND DOWN-LOAD FOR LATER LISTENING (WAV format as are all of the sound files)(45 sec, 495 K): Starts out noisy, but has tgslTakoma and Leftist photog arguing over his attempt to claim press privileges for walking among the FReepers after he starts out accusing us of hypocrisy simply because we are on the same side of the street as them, but no closer than 15 feet from them.

After arguing with tgsl, and after he and I had dueling cameras per photo above right, Leftist photog went back and complained to the Pinko leadership that we were actually on the same side of the street as them. I turned back to my goal of taking photos of the MOAB and the FReeper side of the street. Just after I pressed the button on the below photo of the MOAB, this guy suddenly appeared as the camera captured the scene. He had stepped into my camera to complain about us photographing them. He was in my face, but mainly in tgslTakoma's face and personal space as she was pressed against her camera on a tripod. A Pinko in a Pink hat was with him.

Leftist stepped in front of my camera to complain about us photographing them and he became a Camera Hog in the process. MOAB
and FReepers are in the dark background.

CLICK HERE TO VIEW/HEAR THE VIDEO OF TGSLTAKOMA OR RIGHT-CLICK TO SAVE AND DOWN-LOAD FOR LATER VIEWING (4.0 M, 65 sec, Quick Time MOV format): The light is bad and most of the video is simply black, but this well captures the sounds as leftist Camera Hog above walks up way too close to us and argues with me. Then, as I raise my camera to my face, he bangs into tgslTakoma's camera, jamming it into her face. As I heard the bang and tgsl yelling "don't hit me," I drew my camera away from my face and told the guy to back off. tgsl told me to just leave the guy alone. The guy claimed that he bumped her camera accidentally.  He apologized, but there is no way that this was a totally innocent, incidental bump.  Even if the bang was unintentional (and that is not entirely clear), the guy had gotten way too close to tgsl on purpose.

SOUND FILE: (51 sec, 554 K): This has the leftist Camera Hog's continued apology, then justifying his provocative invasion of our personal space, his face one foot from my face. He whines about his leftist photog friend expelled from among the FReepers. Then, Blue Pony Tail Guy (below center) claims that their permit extends as far as it needs to, but of course we were outside any area that they were using.

Pink Hat at left, Blue Pony Tail Guy and Leftist Photog came up with the Camera Hog.

SOUND FILE (86 sec, 937 K): This is the leftist Camera Hog talking about his uncle in combat and I unloaded on him "I'll bet he didn't go around hitting women." tgslTakoma, Pink Hat, and kristinn (who came over to join us) joined into the conversation. tgsl had us step back 4 feet or so and told them that he they came after us again, "that would be an aggressive move."

SOUND FILE (86 sec, 938 K): Arguing about photography.

SOUND FILE (51 sec, 562 K): Continued argument with Leftist Photog whining about the "big guy in the orange shirt" (bmwcyle) and Camera Hog demanding to know why we are taking their pictures.

SOUND FILE (109 sec, 1.2 M): Really fun as tgslTakoma nails Pink Hat for lying about Code Pinkos never doing coffins at Walter Reed. kristinn argues with the leftists. The leftists turn and leave.

I walked back across the street as tgslTakoma and kristinn stayed there. I took the below photo to give an idea of how far we were from their demonstration when the confrontation occurred. Although tgsl and kristinn are about 4 feet to the right of where the confrontation started, the Pinkos were at least 5 to 10 feet further away when they came to harass us.

Leftist photog signs

tgslTakoma and kristinn at right are not infringing on any Pinko permit rights, not anymore than the Halliburton satellites taking
photos of them, their cars, bikes, houses and even their cats.

Southwest corner reclaimed by patriots after the leftists had
fled the scene of their latest blood dance. The two, rather small,
but very cute dogs, Wahoo and Sadie, were the closest that
we had to "right-wing attack dogs." *

Patriots reclaim the Northwest corner after the leftists left.*

KC, a true gentleman and patriot from the neighborhood, was
happy to join us as he poses here with Apple Blossom. It was
her birthday and some great cake was served for the occasion.

We were honored to have neighborhood resident KC (above right) join us. Another neighborhood resident, who is a veteran, said that he may join us next time.

We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun and important for our troops and our nation.

Somehow it linked itself.

The Halliburton-supplied computers have been designed to do that for us.

Great post as always, Bill. I hope to attend this week as well!

Been thinking about visiting your nation's capital? Come on down! Just make sure you arrive before Friday evening so you can enjoy a fun-filled evening supporting the troops and tormenting pinkos.

For those who for whatever reason cannot or will not attend, please at least bump this thread for maximum exposure. Our wounded troops deserve strong public support.

Will be happy to have you join us.

Since it is a hospital zone and also has residences on one side of the street, we don't want to encourage the honking of horns.

See you Friday.

Mega-KUDOS and a great big THANK YOU to all FReepers who participate at the Walter Reed Code Pink-O counter FReeps every Friday night. I sure wish we could join you at one of these, but at 400-some miles away, the commute would be a bit difficult. If somehow our plans allow us to be in the DC area anytime soon, we will be honored to join you. :o)
