The Fox News Channel's Major Garrett made another appearance on the program this evening, following up on his blockbuster story yesterday. Among other things, Garrett got confirmation --on camera-- of the Louisian State department of Homeland Security's blocking of the delivery of relief supplies to the Superdome and the Convention Center. In addition, Garrett received confirmation from senior Salvation Army officials in Washington, D.C. that the Salvation Army's efforts at supplying the evacuees were also repeatedly blocked. Radioblogger will have the transcript up later, but the key takeaway was when I asked Garrett if characterizing Louisian's preparation for the storm as "abysmal" was accurate and he confirmed that indeed it was. Read the whole thing.
I also asked Garrett why no other network is on this story. He can't offer an answer for that, event hough he points out that this isn't a hard story to get, and Fox News needn't be credited. All CNN has to do (or MSNBC or CBS) is call the Red Cross and get a camera over there.
Can you add the word ARMY in the title..
Ah now it makes more sense. :)
So. Is it the Salvation Army? Or the Red Cross? I saw both in the main post here.
Both were blocked..
Those MSM bastards don't care. All they want to do is blame Bush and interject racism.
I think it was the Red Cross. And the Governor is allegedly the one blocking it.
Almost makes you think they're buying time for their boys to loot the city.
So Blanco kept the Red Cross AND the Salvatin Army at bay while Nagin refused to transport anyone anywhere. I'm running out of room on my tagline...
Okay...now this is beginning to seem sinister. Did they actually keep the help of the Red Cross and Salvation Army out of NO to cause a crisis to get the President? Who cooked this up? I honestly put nothing past the lowest scum politicians in our history.
It's both....read the article.
I hope the Salvation Army shouts loud and long about this.
Paging the Congressional Black Caucus....
Racist!!!!!!!!! :)

Wow..... just.... wow....
He has the facts. Keep this bumped!
Someone was trying to line their pockets with something. That's to be sure.
Promote him to General, at the very least.
Go, Garrett, go! Turn on the heat!
Sinister.

Louisiana's VERY OWN OIL FOR FOOD scandal, courtesy of BLANCO.
**And the Governor is allegedly the one blocking it.**
Yes, Blanko Blanco didn't have it together. She is such a control freak.
Thanks, Dog! And thank you, Major Garrett! Bet Blanco, and the Dems wish they could tie a cement block on Garrett's reports and drown them in the flood waters of NO. As the water recedes in NO, the facts about what happened and didn't happen are going to rise like sourdough.
Who runs the Homeland Security Dept of La?
This is ghastly behavior on the part of Louisiana officials. They should be charged with "human rights" violations. We have had no problem in this nation in condemning the behavior of third world dictators in Somalia, North Korea, and Zimbabwe for similar behavior. Where is the outcry now? Where is Amnesty International?

Other relief agencies say the area is so damaged and dangerous that they doubted they could conduct mass feeding there now. ping a ling a ding dong!
I imagine we will find that Catholic Charities and everyone else was blocked as well.
Well, I'll tell you what. People are starting to get mad about WHY they don't know about it. THIS ONE is going leave a mark on the media as well as the incompetant dems.
This has turned it to something truly despicable both in what happen and in what the MSM is doing, not investigating the fact, but just blaming Bush...
Bump!
The women from the Red Cross was on Larry King Live just the other day and mentioned this
I guess they are pretending to not have heard her
Now FNC finds out that the State Homeland Security didn't just block the Red Cross. They blocked the Salvation Army from delivering food to evacuees.
If I was a conspiracy theorist, I'd start believing that the state really did want those people dead.
That woman has been on for DAYS now.
This is old news that no one paid attention to.
btt
PING
I have two words: Negligent homicide.
I'll add despicable...thanks for the ping Fred.
It's a Sandy Berger event. No big deal.
The media/press is too busy harping about wanting to show pictures of dead bodies and blaming the President and the Fed Government for it
They don't give a dang about honest truthful reporting
NAGIN: Let's make sure the 100,000+ poor people without vehicles cannot leave New Orleans for inland shelters. Let's fail to declare a mandatory evacuation until just a few hours before the Cat. 4/5 hurricane and then keep all the buses sitting uselessly until they're flooded. Then let's pile countless thousands into a couple of "shelters" with no emergency generators or back-up plans for dealing with a stay of more than a few hours.
BLANCO: Good ideas, and I'll make sure that my state Homeland Security Dept. blocks relief agencies such as the Red Cross and the Salvation Army from bringing in food and water! I'll keep the LA NG largely out of the picture until it's too late to do anything, and then you and I can start loudly blaming the feds for everything.
ME: WOW, these have to be two of the savviest, kindest, most 'sensitive' Demagogues out there! Don't you think they belong in CONGRESS???
Can't WAIT to see what you write about THIS :)
I have two words also:
Hurricane George.
