"Road Police" my foot, they were a bunch of goons and thugs in "uniform" who possessed the almighty baton and made it their "duty" to stand at prominent thoroughfares

Never did I say that they weren't just that, you are absolutely correct on what they were. However, Yushchenko can not rule by decree in a constitutional republic, no matter how corrupt the target of his decree is. You either have the rule of law or you have a dictator, which is it?

The fact that one of the first things that Youschenko did after being democratically elected was to abolish this corrupt "police force" and it's practices says a lot about him and his desire to end the corruption and help his people.

Not saying Yushchenko is Hitler, but that particular dictator did quit a bit of his own cleaning by decree as he was put in power to "clean" up society. The niceties of republican law didn't get in his way. Did this show his goodness? Hardly. The fact that you aren't seeing an issue with dictatorial decrees and breaches of constitutions doesn't bode well for you. Hope you don't have any issues with Hildabeast ruling by decree should she ever be elected, God forbid.

Yup, the dismissal was sad news- I'm stil scratching my head about it. Oh well, s#it happens. I am on Yuschenko's side and I hope, for her sake, that Tymoshenko doesn't join the opposition- scum like the SDPU and Communists. (This already might be the case when her fraction did not support the PM candidate in the Rada today). Regarding the ongoing "discussions" in this thread about Tymoshenko's wealth- a "discussion" which runs for 3 years now and is getting annoying as hell- it is sad that people, who by the way see themselves as intellectuals, are like old housewives with their old wives tales. These are all speculations. If Tymoshenko was guilty, she would have been in jail. Everything else is speculation and slander.

I think there already were cases (in Ukraine) of president dismissing the government before, so perhaps, just perhaps, you're not so well versed in this? Also, how serious a breach can this be if Tymoshenko nor the opposition haven't jumped on this?

By the way, will you change your tune about Yuschenko (his administration), now that the "socialist" like Tymoshenko is no longer runs the government?

Oh, he's got the right to dismiss the government, that's not an issue. It's the outcome that is an issue, Tymoshenko is not gone. As for my tune on Yushchenko, only his actions will tell. If he cuts out the socialism, curbs runaway inflation, price controls on meat, milk, etc and restabilizes things, yes, otherwise, no. It's up to him.
