IF this is true....and I say this with a big, fat grain of salt on account of its source, then I think it's probably helped along by people who have been trained for years into welfare mentality, or quasi welfare mentality.

All I can think of is this happening where I'm from in the Appalachain mountains of S.W. VA, and how it would "progress" there.

What Federal law was ordered to allow them to bypass the 2nd Amendment?

No law was ordered. The only thing that has to happen is for people to hand over weapons when told to do so.

The day is coming when a LEO organization at some level, makes a mistake (or maybe NOT a mistake) visit to the wrong house, and has an encounter with people like certain ones I know.

It's going to be bloody, and lots of people are going to die. It will of course make national news, and the individual(s) in question will be branded as extremists and of storing an "arsenal" of assault weapons, and a HUGE cache of ammo. They'll show photos of the vile, black, pistol gripped weapons, and the "sniper rifles". Of course they'll call in EOD when they find a small part of the reloading equipment and supplies.

I know lots of people are reading this right now, with a tight jaw, and hair on the back of the neck standing up. Hmmmm...ya have to wonder how Randy Weaver felt during his little "encounter".

But the day is coming. It's less likely to come to a BLUE state because they're a little better about just doing as their told in spite of things like Constitional law and rights outlined therein.

Sometimes I think that perhaps God Himself prevents certain "mixtures" of people like the scenario I describe above, at least on a larger scale. The outcome is predictable. It's all "action/reaction". Sheeple just do as their told...that's their "reaction". Ours isn't.

Stick together....keep your gear ready, be prepared, and have a plan...do this always to protect those things that are MORE valuable than our lives. There are things more important than life, but incompetent leftist BOOBS like Nagin and Blanco just can't believe it.

I'm tired of pulling punches and being P.C., so I'm just going to say what I really think. The 2nd Amendment is a joke. A gun is not going to protect you from governmental abuses and anyone who thinks that is totally out of touch with reality. Any weapon worth owning that could actually protect you is illegal. All a legal firearm will do is get you killed or in more trouble.

It's never been about gun control. The issue is people control. What do you suppose would happen if even 12 people were suitably armed and proclaimed that they simply weren't leaving? It could digress into a shootout. That's something people have to willing to do. What about your entire neighborhood? What if they ALL vowed to be armed and to defend the U.S. Constitution from enemies, both foreign and domestic?....and then had the courage to DO IT?!

The 2nd Amendmend works just fine...when people make it work.

You can die on your knees...or standing in line somewhere like those folks down in NOLA. A great many of us prefer to die "with my boots on".

This is a horrible precedent. I hope the NRA initiates a class-action lawsuit, and seeks punitive damages.

Is this allowed under Martial Law perhaps? Also, sounds like an excellent way for LEO's to get shot to me.

Why did these writers feel it relevant that the LEOs and soldiers had "assault rifles"? They mentioned it like 3-4 times.

The key here is that one must surrender the weapon. This could only effectively happen in a leftist controlled city.

Put a sign on your front lawn that says "There are NO GUNS in this house" Just the thought of some one having a gun leads cops and crooks alike to take pause. Why do you think they are steeling peoples guns first before they force them to evacuate. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
