"I'll own firearms when they become
powerful enough to be effective."

You would be very surprised at how effective a 22lr semi-auto with a good scope can be. You dont have to kill just wound and that man is out.

I was thinking the same thing.Hell, these guns were useless anyway, since when it came time to truly need them, the people turned them over to government.Wouldn't work that way here.

When the Senator, Governor, Mayor or Police Chief says

A Patriots reply to the Senator, Governor, Mayor or Police Chief would be,

Are you aware that the 2nd Amendment protects the 1st Amendment?

The 1st Amendment is for us to talk about the laws you want to pass or have enforced. Now, if you don't like my questions perhaps we should go to the 2nd Amendment before things get too far out of hand in our America like they did in Germany, Korea and Iraq.

Sir, let me ask you once more,
When was the last time you read the US Constitution, the State Constitution and your Oath of Office?

Do you still support them? Now what will it be? The 1st or the 2nd?
Yes Sir, the choice is yours!

Yeah...if you're going to GIVE THEM UP, then ya shouldn't have em to begin with!

...wouldn't work that way here either. :-)

They TRULY are reaping the rotten fruit produced from a liberal controlled state down there.

There's nothing more important than the preservation of human life.

...even if we have to KILL YOU to do so.

No law was ordered. The only thing that has to happen is for people to hand over weapons when told to do so.

Christiane Amanpour did a report on CNN about mandatory evacuations. She showed a couple, apparently carpenters and roofers, being forced to evacuate from a functional home. She also reported that mandatory evacuations had not yet been ordered.

The anchor asked her about the discrepancy between what the officials were saying and what Christiane had just shown. Christiane was shaking her head incredulously. All she could do was point out that the couple wasn't forced to evacuate. That is, they left on their own, rather than being handcuffed.

Same story here, I guess.

Why did these writers feel it relevant that the LEOs and soldiers had "assault rifles"? They mentioned it like 3-4 times.

Do you really think the "writers" at the NYT have any idea what an assault rifle is? They call any long gun an assault rifle.

Ok, you can take your chances with AR-15 or AK-47. I think the police and National Guard would have the advantage tho.

"There's nothing more important than the preservation of human life."

And we've brought assault weapons to prove it!

Mr. Compass, the police superintendent, said that after a week of near anarchy in the city, no civilians in New Orleans will be allowed to carry pistols, shotguns, or other firearms of any kind. "Only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons," he said.

That order apparently does not apply to the hundreds of security guards whom businesses and some wealthy individuals have hired to protect their property. The guards, who are civilians working for private security firms like Blackwater, are openly carrying M-16s and other assault rifles.

Mr. Compass said that he was aware of the private guards but that the police had no plans to make them give up their weapons.

Blackwater must be there to protect businesses (and those that can afford it)..from being looted by the NO police.

imo

You've got to be kidding me.Do you think no one,but law enforcement and military know how to arm themselves and use their weapons?Do you think there are no fully auto rifles in the hands of citizens?

Tell ya what, search for the video of the LA bank robbers and see just how well law enforcement could handle TWO GUYS properly prepared.I'm glad you weren't around when our forefathers were outgunned and outnumbered by British military.

All a legal firearm will do is get you killed or in more trouble.

There are 6,000,000 dead Jews who probably agreed with you right up to end (almost).

NOT if all "decent" citizens were armed and willing to protect their property! The problem, as I've been saying, is that LA is a leftist controlled state. I don't think there are enough "good" people down there to do any more than simply make a valiant stand!

Your tagline sucks. :-)

These bozos couldn't take on the gangs and hoodlums when they were killing citizens and shooting at relief workers, but now they can can go door to door threatening citizens with illegal confiscation? This is right out of the third world playbook!
