Psst Have another cup of coffee, relax and then replyI'm relaxed. I was saying what was worth dying for outside of politcal freedom. We hae thousand and thousands of people who are dying for their testimony in Christ in the middle- and far-east.
That's some powerful conviction.

"Individuals are at risk of dying," said P. Edwin Compass III, the superintendent of the New Orleans police. "There's nothing more important than the preservation of human life."... So we'll kill you unless you evacuate.

Hey! :-) This is "interesting"...I've got images linked in threads on FR to a webserver at our site, and we're taking hits from ATF!. :-)
In fact, in the past day THIS thread seems to be the one that somebody from ATF was interested in...

Several hundred million wepaons in the hands of 80 million Americans represents a latent force that no army is equipped to deal with short of nuclear weapons and destroying everything they hope to use.
Sorry, but IMHO, your conclusions are not necessarily correct. Every army has to eat...every organized group of law enforcement has to eat. They have friends and families in the effected areas (which means the whole of CONUS in this case).
In such a scenario where the general populace becomes aroused and out for blood...there will be no logistic lines, there will be no front lines. In such a case, 80 million gun owners and their hundreds of millions of weapons become a force the LEOs and armed forces are not prepared to deal with....because quite a few of them will be on the other side.
That is why the assault is peace-meal...one or two at a time.
Here's a good article regarding the use of semi-automatic weapons against "better" armed force.
Just my opinion of course.

Old ladies require three big tough thugs in uniforms, don't they. Big man when he's wearing his uneeform. SS wannabees. These people know everything they have is going to be looted and boosted as soon as they leave.

Nagin thinks he can bark orders at the President. He thinks it's ok to starve people out. He's got delusions of grandeur and he is a very dangerous man. He needs to be gotten out of there BAMN

One should have a cheap, disposable, non-registered firearm for use as a paperweight, and for other purposes.

Actually...here's what I can tell....and there's certainly a whole lot that I can NOT tell, simply because I'm working with a very limited data set.
But from what I can glean from logs, three unique IP address from one particular ATF subnet have been perusing postings on NOLA in particular. The addresses could be proxies, or firewalls though, and I'm not about to go "poking" around them, so I really don't know what they are.
Maybe we have a Freeper at the ATF?! :-) Hey...I'm always an optimist! :-)

If we can't get the military to support us we're screwn because our little pop guns aren't going to stop the LEOs and the military. They work pretty good on looters and shooters, rapers and robbers though.

REmember Philadelphia? The row house those people holed up in? THey bombed it with an IED of sorts IIRC and set the whole neighborhood on fire. The LEOs won't let themselves be shown up. It becomes a pride thing with them.
They're already painting anybody in the city as a mental defective or insane.

I'm tired of pulling punches and being P.C., so I'm just going to say what I really think. The 2nd Amendment is a joke. A gun is not going to protect you from governmental abuses and anyone who thinks that is totally out of touch with reality. Any weapon worth owning that could actually protect you is illegal. All a legal firearm will do is get you killed or in more trouble Besides that, You always have the government to take care of you (/sarc). Spoken like a true sheep.

History is filled with examples of popular armed resistance holding off and even defeating military juggernauts.
I'm sure there were many folks over a couple of hundred years ago who felt that there was no way to resist the British forces. Having a gun will just get you killed or in more trouble with the King.

What kind of reaction is this causing among the federal crickets? Has anyone in Washington suggested they ought to reconsider confiscating lawful weapons, because of a little thing called the Constitution? How about the White House? Anybody there paying attention?

"You would be very surprised at how effective a 22lr semi-auto with a good scope can be"
You would be surprised how foolhardy that statement is when fire is returned by a multitude of larger bore weapons. ;-)

They've set places on fire with "flash bangs" and other "less than lethal" devices in the past couple of years...and then neither they, nor FD personnel will go in or even get close until the fire is out of course.
...like I said...one day they'll pick the wrong house, or the wrong community, and it will be very ugly.

The problem in this situation is that probably 80% of the civilians with guns STOLE them after the hurricane. I don't have much sympathy for those people.
