I Cannot Sit Quietly Any Longer
OpinionEditorials.com ^ | September 9, 2005 | Robin Mullins Boyd

Posted on 09/09/2005 7:52:48 AM PDT by Chickenhawk Warmonger

I spent most of the day beating my head against a wall. Figuratively speaking that is. I dared respond to website claiming that President Bush’s visit to New Orleans delayed delivery of food and disaster supplies. Of course, I countered with the Red Cross being forced to sit on the sidelines by the Louisiana Dept of Homeland Security. Big mistake – trying to confront a Liberal with facts is like trying to make Michael Moore stop eating. I ended up in an email duel with someone that’s sole purpose in life is to bash President Bush. In my head, I knew it was a lost cause but my heart said, “Fight back”.

After being blasted with “facts” from Wikipedia (the online encyclopedia that anyone and their toddler can edit), I gave up. I could only take being told, “You probably didn’t make it past 8th grade” for so long. The old Liberal game of name-calling and insults gave me a stomachache.

After a 30-minute shower and some Mylanta, I began thinking about all of the ridiculous claims and finger pointing that has continued since August 28. So much hate and nastiness while bodies of the poor souls that were unable to escape Hurricane Katrina’s wrath floated in the toxic water. It was a morbid undercurrent of disgusting glee from the Liberals – maybe all the dead and suffering would finally be President Bush’s downfall. It began with Robert Kennedy Jr’s bogus rant that President Bush’s environmental policies caused the hurricane. And it has gone downhill from there.

Unlike the Republicans from years ago, I cannot be silent any longer. I cannot take this continuous disrespectful, hateful nastiness and vat of lies any more. I could spend the next three days writing individual letters to those that have participated in the dance of glee for the ravages of the hurricane. My anger is much too high to take that length of time to get my message out there. So here goes…

I am sick and tired of you on the Left calling MY President names and impugning his integrity. I have had enough of the incessant bleats of “selected – not elected” and “not my President”. You do not deserve a President that takes his oath of office seriously and puts America first. You do not deserve a President that makes faith a priority in his life. You do not deserve a President that operates from a position of high moral clarity. You deserve a President that thinks only of him and what he can get out of being in the highest office in the land. You deserve a President that has no moral clarity and lies about lies about lies. You deserve a President who thinks that terrorism should take a back seat to his legacy. Wait a minute…You had that for 8 years.

I could care less about issues of “black and white”. In my world, there are no color boundaries. I may not like you but it is not because of your skin color. Playing the race card to such an extent as it has been in the post-Katrina environment is beyond the point of despicable. I am just waiting for one of the African American leaders to lie about an attack on a young black girl by young white men in order to stir the racism pot. Wait a minute…that has already happened.

I am disgusted by your lack of integrity. To heck with the truth, you just can’t handle it. The truth hurts because it means that President Bush is not a failure. I am surprised that you have not stooped to the level of stealing, forgeries and lies bigger than any fisherman could dream about. I am just waiting for a story to hit the media about someone stuffing top-secret documents in their socks and pants to shift the blame for September 11, 2001 to the Bush Administration. Wait a minute…that has already happened.

I am appalled at your blatant hatred of 51% of Americans and America. The name of the game is to get back in power. Bad things happening to Americans are good in a Liberal’s point of view. More death and destruction means lower approval ratings for the President. I am just waiting for you to convince a grieving mother to defile her son’s proud military service by saying that “America is not worth dying for”. I dread the day that anti-war protestors stage demonstrations with “Maimed for a Lie” posters outside of Walter Reed Hospital where soldiers are recuperating. What a minute…you’ve already done that.

Nothing you do anymore surprises me. It still makes me sick but the shock value has worn off. It makes me sad to see MY country that I love and support tarnished with the poisonous venom spewed from you. It breaks my heart to hear you claim to support the soldiers while claiming they have murdered thousands of innocent Iraqis. My final words to you should sound familiar – they are the same as your darling Teresa Heinz Kerry. Just shove it you idiot scumbags.

Amen!! Their total need to be back in control makes anything acceptable. It's like they say it is alright to loot because they didn't win life's lottery so they will get in when they can. It isn't alright to loot and it isn't alright to sell out this great country over a bunch of political power grabbing BS. Come on America, put these jerks in their place, fight back when they spew their venom. Honest, the facts are on our side and they won't be able to stand the test.

One thing the author might want to ask himself is who his target audience is here. If the target audience is the left, then obviously he knows he's not getting anywhere with this. If it's the right, then he's basically just preaching to the choir. However emotionally satisfying that may be, it doesn't accomplish much of anything meaningful.

But if he's going after the vast undecided mass of Americans, this piece is going to come across as just a little on the whiny side. It doesn't really do much to defend the President. All it really does is complain about the fact that charges are being made against him. That's not the way to win people over.

I remember very well the terrible vitriol that these anti-American *ssholes threw at Ronald Reagan when he was President. The crude personal insults and name-calling made me sick, and it made me angry. The left in this country hasn't changed, they're just being more open and honest about how they really feel and think. They know the majority of the American people don't buy their garbage anymore, and to get elected, they have to resort to lying about who they are and pretend to be 'centrists' to even have a chance of winning.

They truly are despicable and evil. Bush is not the first to endure this kind of petty brutality and he won't be the last.

Absolutely right. As soon as the facts begin to emerge, they shift to another subject and begin to spew untrue 'facts' and hate.

You're right that online debates between a staunch Lib and Conservative never change their stances.

But like you said, I strongly believe there are dozens of on the fence lurkers who will say "Ah HA!" to a calm bit of logic. That's how I was converted, so to speak.

By kind people who pretty much said, "this is a healthy way to view life and the world"....been there ever since.

You know what's sadder than that reporter saying that? It's that she never has to provide proof to back it up!!!

Won't happen. Liberals would not know the truth even if it smacked them in the face!!!

"Big mistake – trying to confront a Liberal with facts is like trying to make Michael Moore stop eating."

LMAO! You should know better. These Dummie Rats can't read fact sheets. they are meaningless to them. Haven't you seen the silly protest signs they carry around with such glaring falsehoods written on them? They don't care about truth, facts.

It's all about hate for them. That's all. They think what you earn belongs to them, if you work and save your money, buy a nice house and car, you automaticly become the enemy. "The rich" who no doubt stole that money from them. Never mind the FACT that they have never earned a dime on their own for you to Steal. They think communism is the way the world should run, never mind the FACT that it fails time and time again, and has been the biggest cause of human tragety in history, 100's of millions died because of it. The only other killer of equal proportion has been the spread of Islam. Of course, they like to LIE, and twist history and say Christianity was, but nothing can be further from the truth. It has been the cause of more peace in the world in the history of mankind.

Don't bother trying to argue with a DUmmie RAT. When they grow up and get a job, they will suddenly discover that keeping their paycheck enables them to care for themselves and familly, rather than having it stolen from them by corrupt government and handed over to their political friends.

It seems that a "dirty bomb" has gone off in the media to poison the truth and promote liberalism. Finger pointing will not help NOLA! No one has come through as a hero to take charge. All are covered with mud. I have blamed one side but it did no good. All need to improve. I made a donation to help. I am thinking of what I have to protect myself from and taking appropriate action. It is not so good to go for " me first" but that is part of my plan.

WE are all with you.... Roliads are being eaten by me by the handfulls. I agree, we stand up for our President and the best way I know is rebute those hateful libs comments. Write emails, contact t.v. staions, movie stars etc. WE can not sit back and be silent. The most powerful weapon I have is bathe our country in PRAYER! I did that this morning, I also turned off talk radio and news. I have on Christian Radio and it is conviencing me that God is in control. Faith is a hard thing to grasp on to but we have got to use what God has given us, and that is to stay in his word and prayer.

If the President won't defend himself
There is virtually no defense for a lie. With the bunch that is slinging blame, facts don't mean a thing. When the truth doesn't matter, you are just wasting time even engaging in the battle.
It's not a secret that I'm not a fan of many of Bushes policy's, but one thing is for sure, he does what he thinks is the best thing for our country. I believe his intentions are impeccable. Anyone who can sit around with a straight face and accuse President Bush of willfully causing suffering for any segment of our nations citizens.... well, their stupidity sticks out like a neon sign.
I believe he is defending himself in the best way he knows how; taking care of what needs to be done and letting the stupidity of his opponents shine on its own.

IMHO - Cordially,
GE

I share the same sentiments as the author. I have my beef with many of policies of Bush, but he is a good man, almost to a fault. However, I am sick of the vat of lies and bile coming out of the left.

Personally, I think this is an incredible success story, and I believe that the rapid rescue of New Orleans is additional evidence that we live in a great country.

I agree 100%. We've had a great natural disaster and in less than a week it has been brought under control.

No other nation in world history could have done it.

It is strictly posturing by politicians and other hustlers to say derogatory things about the relief effort.

Yes it could have been done better or faster or more cheerfully or in a more culturally sensitive way or more environmentally friendly way or whatever.

All the Monday morning quarterbacks always show up after somebody else did all the work.

Don't feel guilty about it at all. Saving youself means one less person that someone else has to take the time, effort, and resources to save, that can be used for saving someone else. Besides, you have to save yourself before you can help others.

If a lot more people had a plan to save themselves in these types of events, there would be far less death and suffering from them.

I think that their silence is a direct order from President Bush. He wont stoop down and engage them at their level. He knows the truth will vindicate him. God bless that man.

One thing to comfort is to remember that liberals are literally the dumbest people on earth. These idiots pretty much run every major US city and look in what condition these cities are, including their public schools.

White liberal policies have continued to trap blacks in horrible inner city conditions. Bush wanted to do something about it, namely school vouchers. But, of course, white liberals and their sick conspirators in the teachers unions will none of it. Now, who "dislikes black people," Kenya, or whatever your stupid name is?

Don't bother debating liberals - just hope they all die off soon.

They'll do the same thing they did when Slick was elected. Blame Republicans in Congress. Blame Republican Senators. There's always a Republican somewhere for them to shift the blame to.
