I suppose the MSM could look to any major (Blue, especially) city's morgue after any weekend's "celebration."

They'll find lots and lots of photos of just how much the residents of those cities share the view of "The Second Greatest Commandment - Love Your Neighbor As Yourself."

"They santized the airwaves of 9/11 pics just days after the event. Wonder why they are so gung-ho to publicize the corpses of this disaster?"

Very simple, very easy. The corpses in 9/11 were in the vast majority, White people. The corpses in New Orleans will be in the vast majority, Black people.

I believe Honore is a hard-nosed, "git-er'-done" military commander. In the field, where aggressiveness is a virtue, he's the man for the job. But in the glare of the press, with the military coming under fire from hacks and flacks, the last thing the administration needs is a man swatting the beehive. Vice Admiral Allen is just as no-nonsense as Honore, but far more well-spoken and smooth. He doesn't tolerate any more BS than the General, but he halts it with a little more finesse.

In the same vein, I saw Chertoff slap down a reporter the other day when the boob pressed him about the FEMA director's reassignment. His response was basically "I just got done explaining that as clearly as I could in English. I'm not going to do it again." Then he went on to the next question.

What I'm saying is that these men should be free to do what they do best. Gen. Honore's best work is NOT on the podium, but in the trenches.

"Where's Blank-o....???"

I think she and Governor Gregoire of Washington State are twins.

"Now it's correct. They don't want us to hate the government, they want more government, but under Hillary Rhodam, John Kerrey or others of their ilk."

I stand corrected. :-)

Wonder if there is any law saying the military has to take the press with them.

I agree, I think the first interview with Honore where he got upset witht he media was needed at that time now the approach of Allen is probably better just as hard but more used to the media and their questions. I saw the Chertoff press conference as well he was great.

Federal Emergency Management Agency Director Michael Brown, left, listens as Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff speaks at a news conference Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, in Baton Rouge, La., as Coast Guard Vice Adm Thad W. Allen, listens at right

Wonder why they are so gung-ho to publicize the corpses of this disaster?

So they can use them in the next campaign and the midterms.

This is VietNam style journalism.

Make up mind in advance, after checking with management as who is to blame in accordance with management's political agenda.

Come in after the fact.

Don't write from reports. Photograph and tape.

Focus on dead bodies.Ignore atrocities which do not fit bias. doesn't matter who or what killed them. They are dead and it's somebody's fault. And that someone cannot be an African American, a woman, or even a Democrat.

Close-Up on reporter, who becomes star of event.

Focus on blame

Create 20-second vignettes instead of in-depth reports

Reporters today say "I want to change the world."

They do not say "I want to tell other people exactly what happened,
to whom, where, when, how many are affected, and what others who know,
say what may have been the cause.

Where does that notion come from?

I forgot to include a "/sarc" tag on my post. There has been so much posted about so-called "martial law" and so many conflicting news reports about the actual "legal" status under which "the Authorities" are operating that the concept of "rule of law" is pretty much a joke.

If anyone has noticed, "the Authorities", at all levels, have managed to sufficiently obfuscate, diffuse and disguise any semblance of a clear chain of command and responsibility. The has the tremendous benefit of allowing them maxiumum power and freedom of action with minimal, almost non-existant accountability.

The hypocrisy of demanding the "Constitutional right" to show the bodies of the dead, while simultaneously refusing to stand up for the Constitutional rights of the living who survived speaks for itself.

If surviving. law-abiding property owners can be summarily denied their Constitutional right to defend their lives and property because of "the Emergency", then the media can certainly be denied access to broadcast the pictures of the dead to satisfy the ghoulish lusts of a decadent populace.

You can't have it both ways, at least not morally, logically or lawfully.

Here is a reference of the write-up on the 1900 Storm and how persons were treated who showed disrespect to the dead.

This has a quote from an article published in the Dallas News on September 14, 1900.

Sad to say but I do believe those "corpses" will be voting Democratic next time.

Happens all the time.
