The mess of our Constitution in New Orleans: a video (Vanity)

It is really beyond belief what is happening in New Orleans!

US Second Amendmend, states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

We need to restore and enforce adherence to the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights as the supreme protective law for firearms of law-abiding people. I can't stand this kind of gross breach of Constitutional Law, presently in New Orleans.

It would be more disgusting if the homes were confiscated. Hasn't Marshal Law been declared?

So much for that

"no one will be deprived of ...PROPERTY...without due process of law."

I guess that no quartering of troops things (the church) in the constitution was more of a guideline than a rule.

Even the dumbest leftist gun haters are smiling about this. Notice, unless I missed something, that we've not yet seen the name of the moron that suggested this nor an explaination of how current law supports the implementation of a confiscation order. But, predictably, only the law abiding are being disarmed. The lawless got to keep theirs and are still running wild. The NO police are some of the dumbest in the country if they knew no better than to go along with this. A smart cop knows that when the police are put in a situation where they are overwhelmed, the armed law abiding are a damn nice thing to have on your side (sometimes they even have the weaponry you may need, remember LA?).

No, this is for one reason and one reason only. To establish the precedent that it can be done. When the fog clears here there will be challenges.

As much as i support our military and other policing forces I would be going down fighting before i allowed anyone to take my guns and other weapons. The problems that happened in the super dome and on the streets are created by the good people not having guns and other weapons. When we disarm the good people we end up with only bad people having guns.

The government can do more to fight against the people that are shooting. They can come in with a few helecopters and blow them off the planet. The state of LA and TX and AL all have carry laws that respect the rights of citizens to own and bear arms. I wouldn't let them take me one step back from that. There is no-one more vunerable in the world than someone set out of their home without a weapon to defend themselves.

The national socialist movement in Germany began disarming the citizentry in the 1930's before the socialist leader Adolf Hitler came to power. Germany was corrupt morally and broke economically and blamed the jewish for their own corruption.
Could it be that moral and economic corruption are inseperalble?

Why? Because they are testing us. And if we fail this test a larger more draconian gun confiscation will occur at the next emergency. Bet on it.

The link doesn't work for me, what am I supposed to see?

What can we expect of a gun-grabbing, demonRAT-run inner-city? Yet ANOTHER reason for all good, law-abiding Americans to engage in "Bright Flight" ASAP. This USED to be called "White Flight" in previous years, but now ANYONE, black, white, or otherwise, that chooses NOT to live in such a city, is EXTREMELY BRIGHT to get out as fast as they can!

The left-wing inner-city bureaucrats, including the dumbass mayor and his PO-lice chief are the ones pushing these unconstitutional measures (illegal searches and seizures). We can expect it from these un-American wogs, but the truly disturbing thing is that National Guard, police, and other law-enforcement personnel are CARRYING OUT these local orders! And this, AFTER giving an oath to PROTECT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES!

Their actions are perhaps due to their youthful exuberance and the macho nature of their assignment, or maybe as a result of most of our young people not really knowing, and fully comprehending just exactly WHAT our constitution says and means. This IGNORANCE is probably due to them being "taught" in GOVERNMENT schools, but IGNORANCE of the law is no excuse, ESPECIALLY for those charged with upholding it!

Unfortunately, all of the video (or audio I've heard, in the case of this link) I've seen, indicates these gun-toting, jack-booted thugs are carrying out this assigned task with gusto.

In the video clip (I tried it several times, but was only able to get the audio each time), one of the young troops says, "They (the law-abiding citizens) were a little bit threatened because our weapons are bigger than their weapons".

Can you BELIEVE that?

Well, sh*thead, just come to MY house in a similar situation, and in an effort to ILLEGALLY and UNCONSTITUTIONALLY break down my door, search my house, confiscate my firearms, and force me to leave my home, and you'll find that MY weapons ARE as big as yours, and with my experience, much more deadly...

to YOU and your fellow jack-booted thugs!

That this is happening in a U.S. city, is thoroughly disgusting, repugnant, and UNBELIEVABLE!

We all need to write our representatives and FORCE them to enact BULLET-PROOF (with NO loopholes the left-wing maggots can use to take these rights away from us) laws that protect ALL of our rights, as enumerated in the Bill of Rights, and MOST ESPECIALLY, in time of crisis, our God-given right to defend our property, livelihoods, and the lives of ourselves, families, friends, and neighbors. This is best done by exercising our 2nd Amendment RIGHT to keep and bear arms for defense.

It's a damn shame that we need new laws that back-up rights we already have, but if that's what it takes, then so be it.

In the mean time, armed, law-abiding citizens need to do what they have to do. Given the current situation, all they can do is capitulate, or FIGHT BACK.

Armed law-abiding citizens are no danger to law enforcement, UNLESS, they BREAK THE LAW and ILLEGALLY try and take away our RIGHTS.

In that case, remember, they are wearing body armor, so go for head and groin shots.

During "our" President's mandate, I've seen Keynesian spending and a lowering of our constitutional rights. These are other evidences that Bush is not, and never will be, a Goldwater republican. What's the next step?

Thanks for the link to your "Constitutional Crisis" video compilation. Too bad that first clip is so pixellated, but other than that unavoidable aspect, it was a very good compilation.

I never thought I'd say this, but I LOVE what that lawyer had to say, which was, in short, "Leave me and my neighbors THE F**K ALONE, and everyone will be alright, INCLUDING YOU (law enforcement and military personnel)!".

Thanks for the post. It IS too bad we don't have a REAL conservative president, especially when we see what is happening, with no outrage from him, down in New Orleans.

Corruption is corruption. I can't make a distinction between 'moral' or 'economic'. To me it's like sticking one's finger up to test the winds. Does this remind anyone other than me of the last dimboRAT preidential nominee?

"A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference. --Thomas Jefferson

"...but if circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people, while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights..." -Alexander Hamilton, speaking of standing armies in The Federalist 29.

"That a well-regulated militia, composed of the body of the people trained to arms, is the proper, natural and safe defense of a free state; that standing armies in time of peace should be avoided as dangerous to liberty; and that in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power." -George Mason, Article 13 of the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776.

The above is the sort of information of which most of our "official types" are either absolutely ignorant, or cognizant but choose to ignore because their agenda is more important to them.

To the one guardsman who said he'd rather be in Iraq, because he doesn't want to have to think about what he might have to do if someone pops around the corner [, shoots, and he might have to shoot back at an American]

My reply to him and all the other Constitutionally illiterate "official" types is, you are wronging the people by disarming them.
You are going from house to house like a swat team,
with the posture of an aggressor,
confronting people who have committed no crime,
telling them what to do when they don't agree you have authority in their state,
taking away their means of self-defense.
Will you be able to protect everyone you disarm? (which misses the point).
What happens when a disarmed person is savaged by criminals under your watch, will you be liable for damages?Of course not, you'll have immunity.
Disarming a law abiding people is a war crime, even if you are a well intentioned ignoramus.
As the law abiding people down there are being disarmed, they should be aware they are engaged in a so-far cold war with their government which is relieving them of their Bill of Rights.

If someone other than a lawbreaker, looter etc., does shoot at you, I won't wonder why. You can disobey an illegal order, and the order to disarm law abiding people is an illegal order. If you fail to disobey this illegal order you are subject to being shot at.
If they who shoot at you survive the fire exchange, get arrested, put on trial for attacking the "official" agents, and I were on the jury, I'd refuse to convict them on the grounds that they were defending their rights. If you shoot at a person while trying to seize his means of personal/family/property protection, I'd recommend you be charged with a war crime.

I don't think it would hurt to have a web page like a petition, for all our government to see, but actually a roll or list of people who assert their refusal to convict an individual protecting his rights from US agents. This would be the perfect answer to those US agent types who we know wouldn't mind firing on citizens. If that lawyer we saw had electricity, he would be a good candidate to set it up. I'd sign it.

Agree with all you say.

I'd sign a petition also, but we also need to jerk the chains of our elected reps in Washington, including the President, to let them know of our outrage over the trampling of our fellow citizens 2nd Amendment rights, and other related Constitutional rights, ALONG WITH the effective stripping of their GOD-given right to self defense!
