Clint Black put on a wonderful show, as always. He's sincere in his support for the troops. He has a charity set up on his website.
http://www.clintblack.com/ffsf.html
Clint Black Establishes Charitable Foundation -- The Clint Black Foundation has established a fund to benefit the families of soldiers killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Clint Black is providing all the necessary administrative costs to make sure 100% of the proceeds will go to the families. One way to contribute to this fund is to purchase a specially designed t-shirt. Those who do not want to purchase a t-shirt, but want to make a donation, can simply make out a check to The Clint Black Foundation, Families Of The Fallen Soldiers Fund and send it to: The Clint Black Foundation, C/O Sussman & Associates, 1222 16th Ave South, 3rd floor, Nashville, TN 37212.
The concert at the end of the walk (starring Clint Black - he was fantastic, BTW) was broadcast to our soldiers on the Armed Forces network. I have to wonder if they noticed that the audience had no flags.

They signed up for the Freedom Walk, and they wore the Freedom Walk T-Shirts. At some point in the walk, they turned them inside out and had their own message on them.
The website for the Freedom Walk stated that nobody would be allowed to walk without wearing the official shirt, but again they cut a lot of slack - in favor of the Leftist bastards who couldn't even allow the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our WTC and the Pentagon and Flight 93 to be remembered without their hate-America message. I saw one woman with a "No More Lies, No More Lives" T-shirt on. And nobody did a thing.
But bring a tiny little American flag into the walk? Nooooo.

SOP for this kind of event. You let someone in with a flag, chances are that some a**hat who wants to carry in a political banner is going to start screaming about freedom of speech and call their lawyer.
It's just easier on everyone if there's a general ban - people I know who've had to enforce such things at past events really hate doing it, but it's better than being hauled into court. Sucks, but you can thank a society that permits abusive litigiousness.
Another reason is that it's impossible to tell what a person's intent is when they try to bring in a flag. Law enforcement has to assume that some protester will infiltrate the event with a flag with the intent to cause trouble by desecrating it (carrying it upside down, throwing it on the ground, even setting it on fire). The last thing anyone wants is to have a brawl break out and some idiot protester get hurt (as gratifying as the thought may be) and have the violence be what makes the evening news.

Hoe many rolls of Bounty and bottles of Windex did it take to clean the screen?

Those flags in the "bin" were all smaller than a foot tall. Of course they had sticks on them, but that wasn't why they were contraband. They weren't concerned for the safety of walkers. They didn't want to politicize the walk. It's a sad day when an American flag is considered "political." Large groups were given signs on 8 foot poles, so that their group's walkers could locate them in the crowd. And people had umbrellas (3 foot long potential "spears") And kids rode their scooters, running into people's heels ahead of them. It was PC BS, plain and simple.

Roger that!
I've owned Volvos for the past 25 years..., and I'm a liberal's worse nightmare..
I bought them for comfort, reliability and safety...
Now that Ford has bought them, I've been less than impressed with Volvo and may never buy another.

I saw those two hanging out around a bank of media cameras hoping to catch some attention.
I, too, had a flag confiscated but was later allowed to remove it from the stick and keep it in my pocket. I asked the nice Pentagon Police officers how they could host something called a "Freedom Walk" on the anniversary of 911 and confiscate American flags. The officers said the decision came down from DOJ. If Alberto Gonzales is unable to distinguish between a banner and the American flag, he is danger to America.

These are privileged white boys who have never had to account for themselves or make any sacrifices. <<<..Probably a good thing I wasn't there...They'd had to account for a couple of black-eyes and an ass kickin...and I'd
have to sacrifice by spending a few days in jail...
