Keesler General says "Don't Count Us Out!"
Great - I'd hate to have to clean up a cod strike on an engine. Bird strikes were bad enough.
You bet we are, the general said
The military can do ANYTHING. They are the best in the whole entire world. God bless them all.
My brother-in-law is stationed at Keesler and lives in Ocean Springs, Ms., just east of Biloxi. He went back home yesterday. He rode out the storm here in So. Ind. His house was undamaged except for a fence theat was blown over. He had orders to stay away from the base for 30 days. He doesn't know what will happen.
Barracks were shacks with men so crowded you had to walk sideways between double bunks.
Hospital, medical care? That was a joke. Illness was not allowed.
Food? What was not stolen by staff was inedible.
And Biloxi? It was so corrupt it had to be put off limits for all personnel. Nice town.
