Today, President Bush met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in the Oval Office, and together they had a joint press conference in the East Room of the White House.

This afternoon, President and First Lady Laura Bush left the White House for New York City, where the President will address the United Nations.

Oh, we just got Mark Levin's show in Dallas. He's on here from 6 to 8 PM. Don't know if that's live or not...probably not.

I forgot to listen to him. I have to try to put him on my mental schedule. (it's not very reliable)

I live in a red state too, and I have friends here that I like, but I am afraid to discuss politics with them for fear that they may be libs and I don't want to lose resspect for them so I avoid the subject. It is too bad that we have come to this.

A bit off topic but a question, I did not catch the whole interview as I was preparing dinner but a man in some kind of uniform was speaking on FNC (either Police, Guard etc - as I said I was in and out of the room) but what I caught was something like they were being paid fortnightly or weekly.

I was surprised in England hardly anyone is paid other than monthly straight into ones bank account even factory and shop workers is this normal in the States?

***I had to turn off the radio I was so upset with her.***

She was such a boring speaker that I kept forgetting to listen. But she sounded as though she THOUGHT she was a great debater. Rush showed her that she wasn't. You'd have enjoyed the end.

I'd like the picture of Laura and George that is on the thread today. She has on a brownish suit.

Oh, I know where you are coming from on that.

I'm in a conservative area (Irving), but it seems that everyone in all my groups, or at least the majority are liberal--either a lot liberal or a little. Most of them aren't that informed on politics.

My writers group--liberal, but that's always the case in anything to do with the arts.

My Bible class - teacher Very liberal guy; rest of the group mixed. Pray before going not to lose my tempter with Teach. He's a very good man, but not a very good wizard.

Speaking of Tom Brokaw, he was interviewing a Family member from Flight 93 after the Documentary on Discovery channel on Sunday, and he looks really bad. He has only been gone about 10 months and his face is puffy looking and splotchy and very lined. I do not have HDTV so there is no excuse. It could be the agonizing death of Peter Jennings. Maybe he does not wear makeup for these small jobs. It was a shock to see him, and his voice seemed more nasal than ever and very hard to understand.

Some companies pay every week, usually on Friday....that's all over the country. I get paid every other week, and so does my husband, we off set weeks, which means we get a pay check a week. He gets his direct deposited into our account, I still get a paper check, which I like better myself. Some places, usually government jobs get paid once a month. Alot of places are going to direct deposit, it doesn't cost them as much in administration fees.

You missed Tim Roemer on F & F the other morning. It was hilarious. Tim was talking with Brian and Steve I believe when Roemer suggested that there be a 911 type panel with unbiased people investigating the Hurricane response. Then Roemer made the mistake of saying that they should appoint Jimmy Carter, and little Brian piped up with no hesitation and said "You gotta be kidding!". It knocked me over to look at Roemer's face and how he backed off that suggestion. Way to go Brian!

Wow. I hope he's not sick.

He's the only MSM anchor left now, so maybe he's suffering from some kind of depression.

I can't speak for everyone, but I think most people are paid every two weeks, or twice a month........like on the 1st and the 15th of the month.

That's pretty standard. And it only goes directly into your account if you want it to in most cases. My husband's salary goes directly to our account, and I pick up paychecks from both my places of employment.

That is because of the article that came out from one of the biased reporters that said that GWB is just nice to people in front of camera's for show and that he is a tyrant to work for and nobody likes to work for him. I am sure that Bimbo got the info from that. There was a thread the other day on it, and I bet that it was Colin Powell, now out of the loop and backbiting again, wanting to feel important again. He was such a leaking backbiter when he was in the Administration, and now he has no info to leak and he sees Condi getting a lot of favorable reviews and is jealous.
